A Good Quality Puzzle
I bought a bunch of puzzles from different companies (White Mountain, Ravensburger, Cobble Hill, MasterPieces, Buffalo) for me and my father to give my mom, and this was the first one she did. I had never heard of White Mountain Puzzles before, but I bought based on others' reviews re: quality and, of course, if I thought she'd like the picture. I helped her a little with it (I contributed about 20 pieces and then got bored) and we both thought the quality was very good. The pieces were all varied in shape (not uniform)--which we liked--and the pieces were definitely bigger than average (bigger than the 1000-piece Ravensburger she just started, also good quality). This puzzle has the blue board backing and is quite durable. None of the pieces bent and they were all in the box. It was a pretty picture and reminiscent of cottages on the New England coast. The picture had more of a glossy than matte finish. Personally I liked the matte finish on the Ravensburger better, but she didn't care. When she put it back in the box she was able to carefully lift whole sections without it breaking; the pieces fit and stayed together very well. She did it in 6 days and thought it was about medium difficulty. I'll definitely keep White Mountain in a list of puzzles that I plan to buy over the months/years ahead.

Very pretty puzzle
This is my second White Mountain puzzle. This one is a better quality than the first one. I ordered them at the same time so I don't understand the difference in their quality, but unlike the other one this one has a decent thickness though still on the thinner side, and the pieces wew cut all the way through. A very pretty puzzle when fully assembled. Constructing puzzles is a great way to spend time with your children. It leads to great conversation and teaches them to think. Teachers continue to comment on my children's ability to reason things through; I tell them it was working on puzzles since they were toddlers.

Great puzzle from a great company!
I love these puzzles! They remind me of home while my family is stationed in Japan. These are the only puzzles I will buy now. When I went back to the states on vacation I made a point of visiting Jackson, NH so I could visit the store. It is a puzzle wonderland and if I hadn't had a baggage weight limit I would have bought everything. I'm so glad that they distribute though Amazon because it makes these great puzzles so easy to get from anywhere in the world. The thicker pieces are awesome too! My two year old likes to "help" me puzzle and he sometimes shoves pieces together that don't quite fit. Not one piece has broken and he is very rough on them.

Beautiful colors and fun to assemble!
This was the first 1000-piece puzzle that I put together. I have just discovered that puzzles are a hobby of mine. My husband says I've literally stayed up until 2:00am working on this puzzle because I was so absorbed in it. I started with the edges of course, then worked on the house, chairs, ocean, and lastly sky. The colors are vibrant. I felt like I was sitting in one of the chairs looking out into the ocean. The pieces are mostly durable and intact, but there were several whose rounded edges were bent. That's why I gave it 4-stars. I'm still trying out puzzle companies to see which one(s)have the highest quality. So far, I think Ravensburger is the best (no bent edges and fit together perfectly), then followed by White Mountain. But I'll be ordering more puzzles so I'll let you know what I find!

Quality is not up to standard
I read many good reviews on this puzzle and therefore went ahead to buy it. However, the moment I poured the pieces out from the box, I am disappointed to see that the pieces are not well cut in fact some of them are blunt. Pieces are of a odd shape (unlike those from other puzzles) which somewhat makes it a challenge to know if you have gotten the right fit. I just started the edges and hopefully I can persevere to finish it. I expect the large patches of the sky to be very challenging since you have to second guess if you have piece the right ones together. I have had a similar bad experience on another puzzle which I couldnt finish in the end, because so many pieces fitted each other and it was so frustrating. Hopefully the picture will turn out to be pretty and worth my effort. I will seriously think twice before buying another White Mountain puzzle.

I had a whim to do a jigsaw puzzle and ...
I had a whim to do a jigsaw puzzle and ordered this on the spot. It's been weeks, and I've barely gotten a little more that the border done. This is a challenge with so many pieces, so I may toss this and if I get a whim again, I'll go for a smaller count.

Beautiful design and wellmade- Well worth the price
I have been doing a lot of puzzles lately. Most I bought from White Mountain and similar companies. Some were cheap puzzles that I bought at local stores. The White Mountain puzzles are vastly superior to the cheaper versions. Not only are the designs sharper, the puzzle pieces themselves are sturdier. The layers of paper that make up the pieces come apart much easier in the cheaper versions. Also, I have never had missing pieces or miscut pieces from White Mountain.

This puzzle is challenging and the unique die cutting offers more challenge
This was my second puzzle for the winter season. It is a painting and not a photograph which makes the fuzzy image a little more difficult to put together. Also, I was surprised that this puzzle was of better quality, in my opinion than those made by Ravensburger in the same price and part count range. It had more interesting complex cut to the puzzle pieces with a few fitting in the wrong places which I thought was a plus. After all it is a puzzle. Also, the back color was better. It is more complicated than it looks. Not for children.

I was looking for a gift for an older friend and a jig-saw puzzle with an interesting summer view to combat the long winter months, seemed to fit the bill. The picture was bright and airy with enough pieces to make it a challenge but not too big that you cannot eat at the dining room table for days! I am considering buying one for myself!
