Works great when I do my fries. The oil drips off the wire easily. The shape makes it easy to get all those fries out of the pan. Wood handle works great to keep you from a hot handle. Should last a long time.

I hate admitting it, but I had been using one of these for years until I accidentally burned it up. I love these spider strainers. I accidentally set a pan on fire which in turn burned the handle of the spider I was using to remove egg roll wrapper "chips" from hot oil. There was a problem with my burner and oops, oil dripped on it and poof, instant fire. I ordered this spider and other than being brass like my old one, this being stainless steel; it is the same size and performs exactly as the old one. In fact, I find it cleans better too.

We’re not Asian cooks, but we absolutely love Asian food—and this Helen’s Asian Kitchen Stainless Steel Spider Strainer has become a kitchen essential! My husband makes his famous chicken broth by dumping everything in (bones, veggies, etc.), and this makes scooping out the solids a breeze while keeping the liquid clean. It’s perfect for small pots of pasta too—just strain the noodles and save the starchy water to thicken sauces. For fondue or homemade Chinese-style hot pot, it’s ideal for adding and retrieving batches of ingredients all at once. We had one before that finally crunched after years of use, so I gifted these to everyone in the family for Christmas. At first they thought I was crazy, but now they’re raving about how useful it is! The stainless steel mesh is sturdy (doesn’t bend or fold when pressing against pot sides), drains quickly, and the bamboo handle stays comfortable and cool. Price is fantastic for the quality—well worth it. Only tiny downside: Shredded chicken bits can stick in the mesh a bit (but that’s true of all these strainers—quick rinse fixes it). Highly recommend for everyday cooking, broth-making, deep-frying, or hot pot at home. Five stars—we love ours!

Very durable, not hard to clean, good value for money. Can be used in a wok or deep frying in a skillet. Can also be used as a small strainer. There are no sharp edges exposed so it shouldn't harm ceramic, but I'd avoid using it on non-stick coatings. I like that it can be washed and dried with a cloth or sponge without snagging.

This spyder strainer is perfect and very reasonably priced. Have used it a few times and works great to remove fried dumplings while allowing the oil to drip through. Economical but sturdy. Happy so far with my purchase.

This scooper is excellent fir removing pasta instead of lifting the heavy pot to drain and you still have all the pasta water to mix the sauce in. Great for deep frying also.
