Physical Therapist Recommended!!
I have been looking for a good arch support insole for my Asics Cummulus-16 size 8.5 mens running sneaker. I have one foot that is flatter than the other. My left foot has a normal arch height and my right medial arch has a low to medium amount of flattening, so Ive been getting a moderate amount of left foot pain and anterior and post shin splints after running 2-3 miles on the treadmill . The size 8 insole fits perfectly into my 8.5 Asics , the sneaker feels slightly more full than with the factory insole but its due to the increased cushioning and arch height which is the not a problem. One of my worries was that the arch height would be to hard on my foots arch when running but you gradually get use to the pressure and it definitely keeps the my arch from dropping as much as it use to during foot strike when running . I had no shin pain when running with them for a 1 mile when I would normally feel a moderate amount of discomfort by that point. As a Licensed Orthopedic PT Im always looking for good products to help my patients return to sports or just walking or running, and I will definitely recommend New balance Motion control arch support insoles to patients with flat feet who want a relatively inexpensive alternative before buying a custom orthotic insole from a Podiatrist , or Physical Therapist Orthotic Specialist, Chiropractor or Foot Ankle Orthopedic MD Specialist; a custom orthotic from one of those can cost you from $200 - 500 out of pocket cost with a private health insurance plan. I think New Balance has another arch support insole which looks a little more supportive and firm , this model seems to give a moderate amount of pressure in my arch and I definitely feel like more of an arch would be hard to deal with. You definitely need to break in the these insoles slowly , increasing time in them gradually. I wouldn't try and just wear them to work for 8 hours for the first day , that might cause foot pain. The general pain everyon

The arch support is not where it should be
Size fits into the show properly, but The arch support is not where it should be, on the inner portions of your foot. It is in the middle but more toward the outer portion of your feet, like toward the pinky toes if you know what I mean. This makes it feel odd and too high by outside, and gives no support on the inside. I gave 2 stars because I am going to give it a few days and see if this support makes sense for doing the arch strengthening foot exercises while wearing and walking slow, practicing, but Im pretty sure I will wind up returning them. Will update in a week.

Trying to love these insoles
Reasons for purchasing New Balance Insoles IMC3210 Motion Control Insole :* Moderate to severe pronation, determined by a podiatrist 25 years ago* Faulty step motion as a result of pronation and minor issues with flat feet (per podiatrist above)* Inflammation and pain at the joint of the big toe on both feet, probably due to pronation, flat feet, faulty step motion, and hereditary issues* Possible bunion development at the joint of the big toe (recent self-diagnosis--thanks, Wikipedia!)The podiatrist mentioned above created custom insoles for me at the time of my visit 25 years ago. I used the insoles exclusively in my running shoes, which alleviated the issues with multiple stress fractures in both shins as well as knee and hip damage from the miles I'd run on asphalt/concrete (distance runner in track & cross country... 4 miles a day was the minimum for 2 years). After about a year of running with the insoles, I retired my running shoes and forgot about my foot problems. Insoles and comfy trail shoes are long gone.Fast forward 25 years, 10+ pounds and 2 kids later... I'm on my feet a lot. I also have some relatively recent problems with inflammation.Ordered these insoles based on customer reviews and product description. Here's my take after four (4) days of wearing the insoles:Pros:* Price. Insoles are competitively priced, about the same as other insoles I purchased for the same issue a month ago (poor results with those). These are are approximately $100 less than the custom insoles I purchased 25 years ago from my podiatrist.* Insoles seem to take a lot of the pressure off of the ball of my foot--joint pain at the big toe joint is gone. Inflammation is not, but after 4 days that is not very surprising.* Insoles are pretty comfortable once you get used to them, which takes about a day of wearing them intermittently for about an hour each time.* Sizing is correct. I put the size 8.5 insoles into my size 9 shoes, and I did not have to cut anything to make it fit. Perfect.Cons:* Initial comfort. I carefully placed the insoles in my walking shoes, stuffed my pained, inflamed foot in there and was horrified to find that the arch support runs across 75% of the midsole. It was VERY uncomfortable for about 10 minutes, and I threw the insoles in the trash. No joke. After about 4 hours of thinking about the $$ I just threw in the trash, I fished out the insoles, brushed off the coffee grinds and candy wrappers, and gave them another try. It honestly took about 40 minutes for my feet to get used to the insoles, which makes sense if you think about it: the reason for the insole is that my foot lacks the correct structure to support everything properly. A corrective insert is not going to be an exact mold of my incorrect foot! It is still not the most comfortable walking experience in the world, but it'll do until I can find a good foot doctor.* Only partially corrects the pronation issue. My right foot seems to pronate more than the left foot. The left foot is almost pain and inflammation free after 4 days, whereas the right foot still has some problems. I am not going to complain, though: I paid for a mass-produced insole, not a customized, podiatrist-created corrective insert.* Squeaky! They didn't squeak the first day, but by the end of the second full day of wearing these insoles, there was audible squeaking/squishy noises coming from my feet. I don't know how to describe the sound, but there is definitely noise coming from my feet with each step.On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate this purchase an 8--I like it because my foot problems are lessened, but I certainly don't look forward to wearing the insoles every day because they are less than 100% comfortable. Let's just say that I wouldn't have bought these shoes based on the way my feet feel when I walk in them.

Great Support......BUT....SQUEAK!
These insoles have some of the best support on the market and great cushioning. They have helped relieve my plantar fascitis and heel pain but one MAJOR problem that I have endured with them is that they SQUEAK.....SQUEAK.....SQUEAK!! .Having said that ...i have been able to temporarly stop the SQUEAKING by putting corn starch powder under the insoles..but it only stops the SQUEAKING for a few days then i have to repowder them or just deal with it.Overall if new balance would somehow fix this SQUEAKING problem without sacrificing the other attributes of GREAT CUSHIONING and SUPPORT then I would definitly give it five stars.

A Quality Insert That's Worth the Money
I have difficult feet to fit. They are narrowish, with a high arch and very little padding. My feet always slide forward in my shoes. These inserts keep my feet in place. They took some getting use to as they fit up under my arch. In fact, I had cramps in arch of my left foot, but that went away. Now, I enjoy the support, and my legs are less tired at the end of the day. These inserts are hard. I guess I feel it more because I don't have a lot of padding on the bottom of my foot. But I liked them enough to order another pair. I had planned to move them from shoe to shoe, but they fit in my shoe so snugly that it was impractical. I wear a size 8 in sports shoes, so I had to cut down the 8.5, which was easily accomplished.
