Excellent broadheads
Overview I'm not too sure with the Thunderhead history, but rumor around the campfire is that the Thunderheads have been around for alittle over two decades. Some folks poo-pooped on it's "ancient" design, but what the hell, I'm a beginner; what do I know. So I purchase a package of 6 for approximately $40 from the Bass Pro Shop.com. When I received that package, I was surprised how deadly they looked: perfect. Handling the broadheads left me with a greater sense of deadliness. These things are extremely sharp. The broadheads come disassembled, but assembly was easy, taking only minutes to assemble all six of them. I equipped 3 of my Carbon Express Mayhem arrows with them and designated them my practice arrows. Performance Days before the broadheads arrived, I made a broadhead target (referred to as BH target from now on)by stuffing an old pillow case with expanding polyurethane foam. By the time they arrived, the target was dry and ready for use. I set up the BH target in front of my DIY Archery Target, walked back to the 20yd line and let the first broadhead arrow fly. THWACK! About 1.5" lower than my field points. Second shot, THWACK! Near the first arrow. I thought, "not too bad for a bow that has never been broadhead tuned." I walked the 20yds to the target to retrieve my arrows low and behold, the arrows had completely penetrated my BH target and was sitting half way inside my field point target. It was hellish getting the broadhead arrows out of the DIY Archery Target. Too much penetration. Next step was to turn the BH target on it's side so that I was looking into the long, open end of the pillow case. Third shot, THWACK! Full penetration and into the field point target again. Dang, I need a new BH target. I eventually had the opportunity to go to the public range and tested my broadhead arrows there and here are the results: 20yds - 1.5 to 2" lower than field points 30yds - on the money 40yds - on the money 50yds - about 2" lower than field points 60yds - about 6" lower than field points Conclusion: These are excellent broadheads. They fly straight and appear to be very good at cutting its way through a target. I do need to broadhead tune my bow to get even more performance out of the broadheads, but quite honestly, I'm not going to sweat it if I can't get them to fly exactly like my field points. My theory is that although it would be very nice if both heads flew exactly like the other, an inch or even two is acceptable at this point in my hunting career (at this time, I have exactly zero days of bow hunting under my belt). I think the variable that's more likely to prevent me from hitting that deer or wild boar is going to be range estimation more than my broadheads being off by an two inches at 50yds. Yeah, give me a M21 SWS with a M3A or a AN/PVS10 and I can hit man-sized targets all day long in any urban or outdoor environment, but a bow with 5 fiber optic dots as my sight? That's going to require a whole new set of range estimation skills, skills I have not yet developed. Note: If anyone is familiar with range estimation with a bow sight, please drop me a link, an email, or comment at [...] Thanks for reading!

Classic, economical excellence
Starting my 3rd decade of using NAP Thunderheads, and I still feel that there are none superior. First 20 years I used them with compound bows, now I use a very high speed crossbow, and with good shafts the same Thunderheads fly straight and true, always. Tried mechanicals like Rage, and other fixed like Muzzy, but none gave consistent penetration (especially at angles) and reuseability like Thunderheads. And Thunderheads cost considerably less, are easier to sharpen, and blades can be easily replaced. And they are NOT made in China. There are excellent reasons that they have been around so long!

Highly Recommended!!
The amount you get for the price is unbeatable. High quality razor edge. Great for hunting. Very easy to assemble and the blades last a very long time and stay Sharp. Very wide cut and light weight compared to other brands. Highly recommend purchasing!!

Great Value.
These broadheads preform really well out of the box. Arrow flight was almost spot on to field points up to 60 yards. They are considerably sharp out of the box in comparison to some other brands on the market. The only vice I found was after getting buck fever and missing a shot I skipped the arrow in the dirt and when I recovered it the point was bent and unusable along with the blades being picked. Will update their durability after I send them through an animal this year.

The Best Broadheads
i used to shoot thunderheads back in the late 80's thru the early 90's. always had very good luck with them. great pass thrus and held up very well except for the occasional bent, nicked or broken blade to replace. then the mechanical broadhead craze hit me. i switched out my trusty thunderheads for spitfires. i shot the spitfires and switched again to another brand, cant remember which. then in 2009, the rage broadheads grabbed me up and i grabbed them up. they flew great because of the compact size and design and they performed very well under nice conditions. then in the january of 2010, i had my rage heads freeze up and didnt open on contact on a nice late season buck. i switched back to my trusty thunderheads at the beginning of bow season 2011. i have had the best season ever!! 5 bowkills with complete pass thrus on each and every one. broke 2 carbon arrows and the broadheads were still fine and undamaged. they flew very well shot out of my bow set at #63 out to 40 yards (thats the max i will shoot at). i really have total confidence in thunderheads knowing that they wont fail on me. i bought them here on amazon and got a $10 rebate form from the NAP website. i ended up paying $22 for 6 after rebate. a great broadhead at an excellent price. i highly recommend the thunderhead broadheads. 5+++ stars

Amazing accuracy!
Pics are of Entry and exit from a 20y shot, 55lb draw compound bow first shot! 1. You have to manually install the blades. Putting them together was challenging at first, but by #5 got easier. 2. Accuracy is 💯. Was shooting Sinbadtek fixed broadheads before, and shot was off. With these, they fly true and dig deep into targets. Can't wait for opening day Oct 1st!! ***Update. Makes a huge incision in the deer. Great accuracy.***

I have been using these exact broadheads for 28 yrs with perfect results. With my bow properly tuned, they hit the exact point of impact as my target pointed arrows( no adjustments for sights) . I use them for whitetail and bear. The reason for not giving a five is the "new" adaptor ring for carbon and small shafts. Just a damn washer.😔 Sad really. Corey

Best broadhead on the market. Simple consistent and being a fixed blade never fails to open. Shoot great and consistent. Only broadhead you’ll ever need
