At the top, let me state that one can buy a better scope for a lot more money. In fact, multiples of the price of the Alpen, but not get multiples of its performance and the value proposition of the entire package. Alpen has provided the regular shooter with an easy to use, compact, steady, waterproof, good imaging scope. Unless you require a scope for long range sniping or hunting (and I mean long range), this should fit the bill quite nicely. Additionally, it comes with a reasonable table top tripod, a soft case which you can keep inside a decent hard case, which looks like a weapon/scope carrier. This might add to its cachet at the range.Focusing is fairly quick, positive, and uncomplicated, and the optics capture quite a bit of light, especially at this low price point. It weighs in at a reasonable amount and seems solidly constructed. You also get Alpen's lifetime warranty.For most people, the Alpen will provide all the scope they will require under most circumstances. A real bargain, in my opinion.

For the price, this was a good deal. My local range only goes out to 200 yards and this works ok for that distance. If you need to see farther, you'll need something different. The clarity is good and focus adjustments work well.

I have owned this scope for approx 1 1/2 years and have been very pleased. The view is very clear even at max magnification which is a necessity when using it to sight in rifles at long distance targets. It is very well made and durable and the aluminum carrying case is a big plus. I have not used more expensive scopes but after using this one I don't feel the need to.In fact, the next pair of binoculars I buy will be from Alpen.

The scope itself is quite nice for the price, clear and reasonably bright at its max zoom. The rotating mounting ring is a nice feature as well. However, the compact tripod is the weak point. The base is sturdy but the various adjustment points have a lot of slop and the tensioner has already stripped out. I’ll be keeping the optic & ditching the tripod at this point.

Very clear scope for the money. Am pleased with this purchase. It does loose a bit of clarity in low light conditions and when I turn the focus up to higher power settings.

This is a nice compact spotting scope. It comes with a nice large padded case and a nice window mount. Optics its self are very clear and crisp.

This is a good spotting scope. I used it at 50-100 yards with 223 rounds punched in the targets and you could see the holes pretty well. I bought a decent full height stand for it as well and it is a good setup. The scope that I bought came with a nice aluminum case.

Recently returned from a week in Yellowstone NP where I watched 4 grizzlies, 13 wolves, countless bison and elk with this scope. Although I was surrounded by folks who had spent hundreds more on their scopes, I was excited to discover no real difference between this scope and the nikon, bushnell, telestron, etc. that they had and my Alpen. I was watching animals from distances between a mile and a few hundred feet and was never disappointed. Even in winds of 30-40 mph I was able to keep the animals in focus at a mile away.(Don't forget to brace your tripod in any wind!) I use this scope on a Slik U9000 tripod and backpack with it. The hardcase is an added bonus for traveling with it. A great value!
