Better Price Than My School's Bookstore
While I don't like the content of the book that I'll have to learn from my class, this is exactly what was described, and cheaper than the bookstore.

Fine as an overview, not good for use as a PMP exam study guide
Many of the illustrations look like they were screen captures off a computer and they are so tiny and blurry that they can't be read. The writing tends to be pretty dry (though it would be tough to make this topic fascinating). At the end of the chapters there are questions and problems that refer to datasets that aren't found in the book. I managed to figure out that there is a website that, if you pay extra, has the datasets on it. There aren't complete sample problems done for all of the concepts, so it's hard sometimes to check your own work. There are references to the PMI/Agile guide, but no indication of how the information in the book connects to the PMP exam. So, it's a decent overview of the discipline, but don't use it to study for the PMP exam!

Good prep book for PMP
Each section IDs what part of the PMBOK it corresponds to, which is nice for studying later. Also, the author gives real world experiences at the start of each chapter to offer the reader better perspective on what is to come. Since this book is prep for PMBOK, there could be a "critical concepts/terms" section at the beginning of each chapter that would prove very useful, as some sections do tend to run on a bit.
