Despite being in our 40s, my wife and I decided to take up paintball last year as a way to help me recover from a failed back surgery a few years prior. Despite playing with the best equipment money could buy, our masks offer no protection above the eyebrows and it wasn't long until we each took a few rounds to the forehead. If you have never been shot in the forehead by .68 paintball traveling 300 fps, trust me when I say it hurts, especially if they don't break! Finally we decided to get some addition head protection and these helmets were perfect. Even in the Georgia summer heat they do not feel hot and we have no issues with hearing. All in all a worthwhile investment.

I know that this isn’t what it’s specifically advertised for BUT I use this on my autistic child when we go out in public (mostly therapy). When he doesn’t want to do what is being asked of him, he throws his body to the ground and bangs his head. I KNOW deep in my heart that this has kept us out of the ER MANY times. There was one incident when he decided to throw himself on the pavement in a parking lot and this saved him from minor injuries, possibly even stitches.

I didn't use a scrum cap at first because they're kind of uncomfortable and funny looking, but got some cauliflower ear and had to get stitches so bought this. Honestly it made scrumming so much better as a lock I wish I would've had it from the get go. It was great to tackle someone and not feel your ear rub and get all hot. Totally protected my ears in scrums, there's like a little recess in the padding there. Also, it would get super sweaty during games but never smelled gross. I washed it occasionally and it was super easy.

This is a great beginners scrumcap for rugby, it really helps me preform at my best and overall, the cap is good material and does it's job.I've only worn it to around 5 games and I haven't experienced too many problems in game. Hearing is just a tad difficult due to the thick padding, but it's a rugby game so you can't expect to even hear too much either way.When washing this product, putting it in the dryer made it SHRINK. Wash it with cold water and let it air dry. Doing that made my cap back to normal size and was much more comfortable.And as some reviews have mentioned, the velcro is showing some wear-n-tear when inserted through where it hold. I haven't tried this yet, but I was going to just get electrical tape to go over the area. Once I do that, I'll update this review and say how it goes.

Not for competition; do not buy this cap for team or active player use. The loop through which the strap passes is only a ¼” thick and the strap Velcro is shredding it. The loop is also stretching and will most likely break soon. I ordered 30 caps for the club, all 30 are showing the same stress wear after only 6 practices and 2 games. They will be lucky to make it through the season. We will most likely need to use electrician’s tape of duct tape reinforcement to get them to last. After looking at other, higher quality, scrum caps, after purchasing these, their strap loops are cut into the cap and reinforced with strong seam tape material; they are not going to shred or tear apart. Sadly, these caps are poorly constructed and I hate seeing our club lose this investment so soon. I agree with other post, until they redesign the strap and loop, do not buy this cap for competitive rugby. Also, it is impossible to see strap loop construction prior to purchase because the black straps and loop details are invisible in the company pictures.

I was looking for soccer goalie helmet for my 10yr old son (5ft tall 110 lbs) Site advised how to measure head BUT did not give the corresponding measurement for each size. I ordered a "senior" which showed in the cart as "medium" but when I received it the casing listed as "junior". Amazon was excellent on the return & I actually spoke w/Barnett. They said to order a "large" which I just did.UPDATE - I received the replacement helemt just a few short days after ordering via FedEx at no add'l cost. Size "L" fits my 10 year old son great. He likes better than the karate style helmet he was using previously. Less sweat with this style helmet. I highly recommend this product and both Amazon and manufacturer were very good to deal with.

Hey I bought this for my son to use during tournaments. It is a great product for the price. There are better looking products out there, but it comes at a cost, a much higher cost. I can't say the offer better protection for the higher cost, but they are much better looking. That being said this product did the job and it did not cost me that much. I would recommend this product.

Very good...has helped relieve me from a lot of pain (I'm very tall and wear this in the house to avoid head injuries banging on door frames lol).All jokes aside, this is a lifesaver.
