Up your lunch game!!!
Am I an adult? Yes. Do I still absolutely LOVE this??? Also yes. The molds worked perfectly. This is my new obsession, my friends will all hear about this. The molds themselves are so cute, the eggs turn out so cute. These would make an adorable gift. I don't know how durable they are, but they seem pretty good quality.

Large Eggs are great for these particular molds-and consider BAKING instead of BOILING.
This is the same review I posted for the heart/star mold combo, because the formula is the same...the size of the egg you need however, differs from mold to mold-I learned the hard way. I had XL eggs which worked GREAT for the heart & star...but for these it created a "smooshy" issue! The "customer pictures" posted are very accurate to the results you'll get...however, learn from the mistakes from others before you jump into it or you'll be disappointed and/or very irritated. These are SUCH a cute, sturdy & simple product. My first mistake: I tried to do 18 eggs with 4 molds...not happening. They must be HOT when you put them in the mold...then you shock them in ice water for at least 10 minutes to set up...So doing 4 at a time left me with a problem. Second: EVERYONE and their brother has a technique. You should read, watch and try all of them, and figure out which one works best for YOU. Think about your comfort zone and your kitchen, tools, etc. beforehand. Don't assume you have to do it ONE certain way. Settle in with some blogs and You-Tube videos, there's plenty out there! I've personally found that BAKING the eggs (350 for 30 min) automatically separates the shell & the inner membrane from the egg while cooking. When you take them out, these eggs peel like nothing I've ever seen. The caveat(you know there has to be one), the baking process leaves brown spots from the oven on some of the eggs. Well have no fear, the internet is here! The solution: Food Coloring in the water! (Again-so simple) Now you have green and pink and blue and any color you want...cute, attractive to your kids, and it's still a natural & healthy snack.

Easy steps with cute result
I recently bought six different cute egg molds (these two, a star, heart, car, and fish). I tried them all a few times, and they work great. I would recommend using extra large eggs to get the best looking eggs. I tried large, and they turned out well but the extra large looked better. The bunny works better than the bear since it's already in an egg-like shape, but they still look cute in the end. Easy steps to use. Simply boil your egg(s) first. The egg does not have to be out-of-the-boiling-water hot when you peel it. Pour out the hot water and quickly fill the container/pot with cool water before pouring it out (or just refill with warm water after you pour out the cool water). You can then touch the eggs without burning yourself, but they will still be warm to the touch. You should wet the molds beforehand so the eggs don't stick to the mold when you take them out. I wouldn't recommend putting an egg you've dried off in one. Make sure the egg is still wet, too. Toss the molds with eggs into a bowl of ice water for 10-15 minutes and tada! Cute molded eggs! For extra large eggs, you will probably have to trim off the edges. Just know that not all of the eggs will turn out perfectly, but all of mine have so far. I then cut them in half and put them in a bowl of ramen for a cute, quick meal. I would recommend these. They're cheap and easy to clean, and if you have kids, I'm sure they would love them!

Cute and fun!
My son loves when I use these for his boiled eggs. I got these, along with the car and fish set, to help encourage him to eat more protein by making it more fun. They are cute, easy to use, and easy to clean. The downside is that they don't always work really well. It depends completely on the size and shape your boiled eggs are. If they are too small, they don't get squeezed enough to mold into shape. If they are too large, they squeeze out around the edges. I have had very few eggs come out looking exactly in the shape of the mold and I always use the same size, brand, etc. of eggs - but they vary wildly within each carton and between cartons. My son still enjoys them so it isn't a huge issue.

Adorable and easy
I've been using this set and the car/heart set for a few months now. A few things to note: (1) I've dishwashed these against instructions many times, and not had a problem yet. However, they are pretty easy to hand-wash compared to most molds as the detailing isn't very intricate. (2) The instructions say to soak the mold in water after inserting the egg, but I've always just thrown them in the fridge directly and gotten a nice clean mold. Once or twice I've even put a cold egg in the mold and had it work out ok. (3) These things are great molds but also great egg containers for transport. I throw one or two in my bag as a mid-afternoon or post-workout protein snack. (4) If you're going for gorgeous, I've found the best option is large eggs hard-boiled in agitated water (so the yolk sets in the center rather than an edge), and rabbit and car molds are more foolproof than the heart or bear. If you don't really care too much about appearance, medium or extra large eggs will still fit, with some gaps or overhanging white respectively. (5) I don't know what compelled me to try to make devilled eggs with molded eggs, but it's a dumb idea. The molding process can make the egg white thin and fragile, and the eggs don't keep their shape very long after being released from the mold regardless.

cute, but not perfect
I just tried this set for the first time today. The good: it works. The bad: the instructions are all in Japanese. I actually learned how to use it from reading the reviews. Also, like it said, it works... but not too well. I used Eggland's Best extra large. Here's my experience. The smaller of eggs don't get very good impressions - the details are all there, but they are pretty light and not as well defined. The larger of the eggs get much crisper impressions, however, they also get crushed on the sides where the top and bottom molds press together. I try to do it gently, slowly... no matter what, the sides still come out crushed (with many of those crushed pieces breaking off, leaving a crater all the way around the center perimeter of the eggs - not pretty). Keep in mind, the "smaller" and "larger" eggs I mentioned in here all come from the same crate - Extra Large - so I couldn't even see the difference in size just from looking at them. It's only when I try to snap the mold together that I find which is "too small" and which is "too big." At the moment, I am still deciding on whether to return them or not. Maybe I'll give it another try tomorrow and see.

Easy to use, they come out great!
I LOVE these molds! Yes, the instructions/all writing on the package was in Japanese (I think? Can’t really remember now) but thanks to other reviewers it was easy to read their comments and figure it out. Hard boil your eggs, take off their shells (I wore playtex gloves, really helped with the heat), pop the eggs in the molds, put them in a cold water bath. Someone said for 15 min but I got distracted and probably left them for a little over half an hour. And tada! Open your molds and you will have the cutest eggs ever seen. I love it! I had absolutely no problems doing this, so easy. I think someone mentioned using food dye, I might try that next, maybe the details might pop even more. Definitely worth every penny. I can’t recommend these enough. If you’re thinking about buying them, don’t hesitate.

Super Cute Eggs!!
This is a high quality product. It's made in Japan, not some knockoff from China. These boiled egg molds make the cutest eggs that both children and adults can enjoy. I purchased this set and another (car and fish) from Amazon. The other set's packaging (and instructions) were in Japanese only. This set's packaging had a label stuck on it with English info. In case yours doesn't come with instructions: 1) Boil eggs (with shell) 2) Peel off shell after cooking being careful not to let the egg cool down too much. It needs to be warm in order to shape properly 3) Put egg into plastic mold 4) Close the lid and snap lock into place 5) Place egg mold into bowl of cold water for 10-15 min. 6) Open the lid and gently remove the shaped egg WARNING: Do not use in oven, microwave, or store in refrigerator. Use caution when closing mold lid to avoid injury. Keep away from fire and heat. Wash molds gently. Do not use it for other purposes.

I've used them as rice molds
I have used them as rice molds for onigiri (Japanese flavoured rice balls) and they work well for that purpose (They are actually advertised as such but more expensively elsewhere on amazon). It makes making the balls a much more efficient less painful process. However if you didn't know what they were meant to be it is quite hard to see the features or shape especially in the rabbit ones though the mold grooves are quite deep, its just the nature of rice, I would beleive it would work better on an egg. The rabbit mold had a bit of extra plastic where it has seeped from the original mold where the hinge is which doesn't effect it's utility much but means quality control is not 100 percent reliable.

Mignon ^^
Très joli moule. Je n'ai pas encore testé. Mais ça pourra être pratique pour faire manger des oeufs à mon fils qui d'habitude ne les goute même pas. Ça fera un belle effet aussi dans mon bento :p
