Shimano 105 PD-5700C Road Bike Clipless SPD-SL black

I got a new road bike that has 105 components on it, and wanted the pedals to match. I have the Ultegra pedals on my tri bike, and I honestly can't tell the difference. These are actually easier to get out of than my Ultegra's. I don't notice any weight difference, and these were cheaper than the Ultegra pedals. I haven't had them long, so time will tell about durability, but I'm pleased so far.

One sided pedal. I am more happy with a 2 sided pedal.

I pretty much love these pedals. Smooth to clip in and out of, light, and stiff. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that I sometimes have a harder time finding the clip in compared to my prior pedals (20 year old Look pedals).

Not bad weight for carbon pedals, compared to the other carbon Shimano pedals the 105s are the best weight/price deal. It would have been nice if they rotated better out of the box since they need to drop into position to clip in easy, but after a few miles they loosen up and work better - there isn't much weight in the rear to make them drop easily.

These are my first set of SPD-SL pedals, coming up from the SPD line. This model weights just a little more than the higher priced Ultegra. Save the dollars and take a few grams off the rider. These are nice pedals that are easy to engage. I've not played with the tension adjustment as I have had no issues with them as delivered.Installation was a small challenge. It uses a 7mm hex and I had a little trouble finding one. The directions didn't say what size and most online sites recommend 8mm for pedals.

When choosing a pedal for my road bike I wanted something that was easy to clip in/out of, provided a good platform for my foot, was lightweight, and not too expensive. These Shimano 105 5700 pedals hit the mark on every account.These are the new version of the 105 pedals which are actually lighter than the previous version at 285 grams, and even lighter than the previous Ultegra version that sells for much more. They come with the yellow cleats for the bottom of your shoes and clipping into the pedals is relatively easy. The tension of the clip is adjustable to 3 settings. I ride on the loosest setting which keeps my feet locked into place even on steep climbs. The pedals do require an 8mm hex wrench for installation.These pedals are a solid choice and a biking standard. Unless you needs to save the extra 20 grams, choose these over the latest Ultegra version.

Great product. Great price. Works really well. Almost bought the Ultegra, but then read some reviews that stated it was really hard to clip out of. Even with the lightest setting. I have had no problems with this one. Worked like a charm right out of the box. Did not even make any changes to the factory settings.

After using M530's for the mtb & M540's for the road bike so I could use the same shoes I decided to have dedicated shoes for each bike. Since the roadie was outfitted with 105's I felt this was the perfect choice. The current model was now carbon composites, slight weight reduction over the previous 5700 modesl, and was priced so as not to break the bank. Having a larger platform has provided more comfort (for me it's a personal problem with my right foot) and now combined with new road shoes I'm living big! If I were to have any negative it would be they are more difficult clipping in, but some of that is just me being used to dbl side entry on the m540. When looking at the overall quality and price point you would be hard pressed to find any thing better.

Bought these pedals for my girlfriends bike who had never used clips before. She find these perfect for getting into/out of and they look more expensive than they cost. Value for money-wise there brilliant as got some adjustment in them, and for a beginner the weight was proportionate to the price.
