Good quality
I attached this, with the chain I purchased, to my smaller rear anchor for a quick sink and fast set. Material is sturdy, and has not rusted. I don't know what more I can say, but Amazon needs a certain number of words for a review....

Better to get stainless steel....
was not happy with the quality of Galvanized metal, so i went to home depot and got a stainless one.

Suits its intended purpose.
These shackles are strong and hold securely. They do exactly what you are intending them to do. The large thumbscrew is easy to turn, but doesn't kink up in the chain. Couldn't really ask for more.

Shoreline Marine Galvanized Shackle Anchor, 5/16-Inch
This is a good product. This Shoreline Marine Galvanized Shackle Anchor, 5/16-Inch when used properly and wired to keep the bolt from unscrewing, will provide good service for many years holding your Anchor chain to your Rope. Should not rust and still stay useful for years in a marine environment.

Great fit for my Danielson anchor!
Fits my 5 lb Danielson anchor and chains perfect. The bolt fit nice and snug with plenty of thread. Always have great luck and quality with Shoreline products....and NO, I didn't get this free or at a reduced cost.

Too Weak For Boating Security
Although this shackle looks good, the break strength is only about 300 lbs, comparied to a similar sized shackle available at West Marine for a $1.00 more, which has a break strength of 1500 lbs. True boaters will opt for the better shackle - come on people, a dollar more for a shackle 5 times stronger is definitely worth it, especially when you see your anchor line going to the bottom. I returned these and went for the better ones. They might be good for a skiff, but still, I'd opt for the better shackle. Wish the break strength had been listed on the description (it should be) - a return would have been avoided.

Good
I don't understand why an anchor isn't sold with one .. many guys just tie their anchor line directly on the anchor. There's a slot in the anchor post for a reason.
