Endurance Egg Spoons Stainless Steel Set of 4

These have become some of the most popular spoons in the house - especially for desserts. I originally bought them for soft-boiled eggs, which they are perfect for. But they are a fun little shape, very sturdy and fit very nicely in the hand. We now use them for ice cream, yogurt, a spoon for serving condiments or spices, soft-boiled eggs, etc. Had my first set for over a year. They go in the dishwasher contantly and come out without scratches. Just bought another set because there is never a clean one when I want it!

I have tried numerous other egg spoons before finding these. The biggest problem with most egg spoons is the shape of the bowl does not work well with the shape of the inside of an egg. Most spoons are either too pointy and cannot scrape the far end of the egg, or too thick and leave egg behind. This spoon works as wanted. It is small enough to fit through the hole made by most egg toppers/knives, but large enough to get a decent mouthful of food. It is thin enough (perhaps a bit thinner than needed) to clean the inside of an egg shell with one pass and shaped to work the far end of the egg, again in one pass. They also make great tasting spoons when tasting foods. I can have several of these spoons in my sleeve pocket and not feel weighed down.

If you are fond of making soft-boiled eggs, these spoons are the perfect shape and size to scrape out the inside of the egg. While they feel a bit lightweight, that's actually a good thing, since you can exert a little bit of pressure without punching through the egg shell. However they don't appear to be bending or taking too much damage in the dishwasher, so I'm well pleased with the quality.

I just love a soft-boiled egg. The combination of the semi-firm white and the liquid, tasty yolk really appeal to me. However, they cannot be enjoyed unless you have a "proper" spoon for the task. I have used a horn spoon designed for caviar in the past but I am not crazy about their texture. I have heard that stainless steel can interact with yolk of an egg and create an unpleasant taste, but I have not noticed it. The design and quality of these spoons are not exceptional and I would probably not use them in a formal setting (not that I have found anyone among my friends who likes this style of egg as much as I do) but the size is perfect and I use them often at home, as I sit alone, eating my perfect, soft-boiled egg with this nice little spoon.

Before ordering this spoon, I purchased the plastic kind (with the little chicken feet base - quite cute) and egg cup. The cup worked fine, but the plastic spoon was thick and had little traction in getting the eggs out of the shell. It was a struggle, and I still couldn't get all of the egg out. No such problem with this spoon. The stainless steel is not too thin and not to thick (no chance of breaking the shell with it). And it is long enough (5-1/2") to get to the egg's bottom without struggle. I think it works perfectly. It also has a smart European design. Don't know how it could be better!

Great spoons, perfect fit! Just love these for enjoying my soft boiled eggs! I got a set of 12 little salt & pepper shakers so we can all have our own as we dig into perfectly cooked soft oiled eggs my husband thought he'd never like them. He doesn't, he loves them. Such a great breakfast treat. I also like them for lunch & for dinner with fresh bangers. They are so yummy! At Jon Georges we had an appetizer of medium profile eggs topped w/ caviar. Now I can. Recreate it at home when we can't get to Jon Georges. So yummy & happy memories. Try hem you will love rhem too! Well packaged & delivered timely.

These aren't of the best quality metal, I find that I taste a slight metallic taste when eating with them but that may be just me. I tend to be sensitive to tastes. They are cheap, functional and sturdy however the design itself doesn't seem all that conducive to eating eggs. I use these for soft boiled eggs. I assume that is what all people use egg spoons for (at least when it comes to eating eggs) I'm not sure when else you would need a spoon? If you are using these for another purpose this review may not be for you. My issue is that the width of the spoon means that you have to cut / crack off a larger top hole that normal. I grew up using more narrow spoons which allowed me to keep more of the shell on. This seems like a small issue however if you happen to have a runny yolk that is near the area you cracked the top off of as soon as you pierce the yolk it will run out of the egg shell and onto the egg cup. In order to get the wider hole in the egg you will have had to cut lower onto the egg itself and thus you have a greater risk of being at the level or below the yolk. This equals messy disaster of trying to scoop up all the yolk or delicately eating around the yolk enough so that this doesnt occur. I personally would prefer more narrow egg spoons. But to each their own. If you like your yolks runny perhaps try a different spoon?

Anyway, I repeat that these are excellent spoons for eating soft or hard boiled eggs, as well as stirring or dipping other spices or flavorings or powders, etc. They are strong, petite for eating an egg from within the egg shell, and very attractive. I am ordering more today while available and such a low price.
