Perfect For Maintaining Focus While Doing School Work
The media could not be loaded. I recently had a ton of finals for school and found myself having to spend an excessive amount of time sitting at the computer writing essays. I personally love to multitask, and feel like I function better that way when working. But when it comes to writing essays, multitasking does not work out so well since writing requires my full attention and focus. I ended up looking online for ways to combat my need to do something else while working, and started to come across ideas for "fidget toys" and saw that there was basically a whole community online that used different things to fidget with while working to help focus.I researched online a ton for something that I felt would help me feel like I was keeping my hands busy enough so I was not tempted to start another project while in the middle of writing. I came across this DNA Ball on Amazon and for some reason I was really drawn to the way it looked, and how I thought it would provide enough stimulus to be able to fidget with it and focus on writing. I found it was really difficult to find out how these type of items actually are in person since this would be a much easy purchase to be able to feel it for yourself in a store. I provided a video below so you can see how flexible this stress ball is, and how it looks. One of the main other concerns I had when looking to purchase one of these was that it would hold up, since I did not want something was going to break right away, or potentially spill all over my computer. So far this has held up great, and I do not foresee this thing breaking easily. I'll have to update my review in the event that it does end up breaking.

My daughter has ASD. Her reading level is much higher than her ability to focus so getting through her AR books was painful (rocking wildly with her arms flailing about). Her ABA therapist and BCBA recommended giving her hands something to do. I had no idea there were so many fidget toy option so I purchased a few. I bought a hand spinner (way too big for her tiny kindergartner hands), a cube (has a long shipping time and not arrived yet), a marble in a mesh tube, and this ball (we have also tried using a pencil to point at the words, bookmarks, weighted blankets, wobble chair etc). She LOVES this ball! The colors are very attractive and bright. The outer ball is very thick but still stretchy. After just a few hours of use it became a bit cloudy. She likes the way it squishes and she likes to pull at the squishy balls inside. I like that it is quiet and she can use it in one hand or the other or both! I noticed a piece of the plug came apart on the inside which a bit of a concern. I am quite pleased that it does not have a liquid inside! So far, the fidget toys have helped improve her focus and she likes this one the best. She wants it in her hands even when she is doing other stuff. She even wants it in her bed instead of a stuffed animal. I feel it may not have a very long lifespan - we will see!

Just don't buy these.
I ordered these as extra items for my daughter's class. I ordered 2 so she could have one and the other could go in a gift basket. Well, when they arrived, they were great. Fun to squish, throw, etc. Sure they got a bit nasty from rolling on the floor and so on, but they washed off easy. The one we opened first didn't last 2 hours and it busted. I worried that maybe it had popped or that someone had hit something sharp with it. So, being a push over, I let my daughter open the other one, thinking I would reorder for her class. The second one lasted less than an hour and it split open. This time, I was paying attention to who had it, who was playing with it, etc. Nothing happened that would have popped it - no sharp objects, no scissors, not even anyone pulling it really far to see how long they could stretch it.Just don't order these. Cheap or not, they are a total waste of money. Needless to say, I didn't order more.

Great for an adult, probably not for a kid
I bought this for me (an adult), and I am very pleased with it. It is quite pleasing to squeeze (rather addictively so, actually), and also pleasant to toss and catch. My fingers get quite sore from the amount of typing I do on a daily basis, and this has been helping me considerably. I deducted one star because it does have a strong chemical smell that I'm hoping it will eventually use; additionally, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't hold up as well in the hands of a kid. I think a kid would definitely overstretch and rip this easily, just based on the feel of it, plus the place on the bottom where it is sealed seems like it would be a vulnerable spot for breakage. If you're buying for a child, I wouldn't do this one for younger than a preteen probably.

Sturdy.... But gets dirty.
I was relly excited to receive my ball on the 31st (guarenteed date) and it ended up arriving on the 2nd. This is a really good ball. Before I purchased I saw how people say it breaks and has holes but mine does not show any signs of holes. It is very sturdy. It's obviously something you don't put all of your power into as you can see in the picture it's a pop able toy. It does not have as many balls as it does in the picture. It collects dirt really easy. As soon as I started squeezing it, the clearness was already turning musky. I do not like how the ball has this distracting thing in bold black letters. It reads: PLAYVISIONS104140814SZ. That's just my opinion. My ball has not broken and I sqeeze it pretty hard.

Best DNA ball around!
This is the sturdiest dna ball I’ve found. I bought my first one at a local Autism store and used it at work with special needs elementary school kids. When I went back to get more they were out of stock. I searched hard to find the same ball here on Amazon, ordered one to make sure, then two more. This ball has good stretch and sensory feel. It has lasted months with a kindergartner (which is saying something in my experience) and washes easily. It had no greasy feel or chemical smell. I love it and have one for myself. The tiny balls inside have a texture on them that looks like tiny brains. The colors are fun and appealing. This is one of the best fidgets Ihave!
