Great cookbook for those that love cast iron and those that are just starting out with one!
Got this as a gift for my Dad who has been cooking with cast iron for years. He recently received a cast iron dutch oven and has used this book for recipes for that too. It has recipes for skillets and dutch ovens. Wonderful book with great pictures. Makes an excellent gift for those who share a love for cast iron!

Wide variety of recipes
The resurgence of cast iron cookery is pretty amazing as I grew up with it. The recipes appear to be very easy and delicious. I have yet to try them, but being both an avid reader of cookbooks, and cooking, this will be fun to explore. The order was shipped promptly, as promised, and I look forward to experimenting.

Helpful for a home cook
The book looks very promising. It is especially helpful that it is divided into sections by the type of cookware to be used, and each section contains recipes pretty much covering the spectrum from appetizers to desserts. I have already tried two recipes and look forward to tackling the other ones. One minor drawback to the recipes is that the suggested time for cooking some of the ingredients seems to be off by quite a bit: e.g., where the recipe suggests that something should take 10 minutes to cook, the actual time is more than double that. Keep this in mind and enjoy the experience of cooking in cast iron!

Good Cookbook...Buy It!
Great recipes! Last night, I made the Coq Au Vin for dinner...it was delicious! My boyfriend and I couldn't stop talking about it. The recipes are simple/straightforward and the photos make your mouth water. I look forward to making many more dishes from this cookbook; next purchase is a cast iron grill.

This book came within the expected delivery time and was in very good condition. I read it through in preparation to buy a French Oven, Le Creuset or other brand, still doing my research. It met my expectations as to how to handle this type of cookware and what types of recipes to prepare in Cast Iron. Thank you!

Needs more recipes!
The book was very good explaining the art of cast iron cooking in the various pots. There weren't enough recipes for each item. I was hoping for more recipes than were provided.

Awesome
The "cooking in cast iron" cookbook was a perfect compliment for the cast iron pot my wife purchased from Amazon. She loves the recipes and uses it to bring new meals to the table. The seller was prompt and wrapped the book so it shipped and arrived in perfect condition.

makes it smell like a hippie
It needed pictures. I never put Bay leaves in Stew, makes it smell like a hippie. I knew when she said that, these stews were garbage. Irish man never use that leaf. Thyme is what we use!Anyway, I shall keep the book...she has some good points.By the way Ms. Smith, lamb and Mutton are not the same. Mutton would be stewed with celery and carrots for 4 to 6 hours, and drain the fat with a ladle. Onions then then more carrotts and peas. A true welsh Stew my darling!------Good luck!
