Great book and very informative!
Great book! I found myself as a 1:1 para with an autistic student for the first time. Many of the books out there have medical and behavioral terminology that you wouldn't know unless you had studied it formally. I needed something with the basics that would help me quickly understand and help him. This book was an easy read and really explained how an autisticโs child brain is wired. I really learned a lot and was able to understand his behaviors more. In turn, I bonded with him and earned his trust. I would highly recommend to any school employee or care-taker who doesnโt gave previous experience with autistic children.

I can't recommend this book enough!
I cannot recommend this book enough. I have recommended this book to all of my son's teachers and aides. Every one of them that have read this book have told me how wonderful it was to help them understand more about children with autism. What I love the most is that it is a short and concise book. All the information is in an easily readable format. I love that the author took all of her 10 things and put them in the first 10 pages of the book with a quick paragraph. This allows people to get the gist of the books in the first few pages. I truly believe that mothers and fathers of children on the spectrum have the most unique and truly truthful information to share regarding autism and the children who are affected by it. This book can help us parents help teachers be more knowledgable about our children.

Must Read for All Who Know a Child with Autism
Ellen Notbohm's second book about autism, TEN THINGS YOUR STUDENT WITH AUTISM WISHES YOU KNEW, is every bit as informative and encouraging as her first. She gets to the point, writes from personal experience, provides practical insight, and she cares. Her first book, TEN THINGS YOUR CHILD WITH AUTISM WISHES YOU KNEW, addressed matters pertaining to the very young. This book continues with the older child's development. After reading her book(s), anyone who deals with the mysteries of autism should feel greatly encouraged and better equipped to help these children grow.

10 Things Your Student With ASD Wishes You Knew
I ordered this book for a book study I'm a part of this summer. The reading, though very informative (writtten by a Mom who has a son with ASD), is not written in a "textbook" style. It's written with love and humor. The basic premise of the book is that children are just that, children first - then children with ASD. The team approach is not only suggested but advocated. It's a book I will keep as "reference" as I begin working with more children on "the Autism spectrum". If you are a teacher, school paraprofessional, or volunteer, I highly recommend it. An informative read.

about aspergers
This is an excellent and informative book but I feel that it deals more with the child with Aspergers syndrome than the more severe Autistic children that I have come across as a specialist teacher of young children. It is a must to buy for this area as it explains how to manage and encourage such children in a positive manner with expectations of success unlike the usual presumptions of failure one encounters in life.It would have been better if this had been re-titled Aspergers rather than Autism as it is such a wide spectrum.

This book is a must for every classroom teacher!
I am a school counselor. I buy this book for my new teachers. There are a lot of books on the market. However, this book will help you understand your students with autism. It's a short, quick read. And worth every penny it costs to purchase ten times over.

A must read for EVERY teacher/para/aide. My son attends an autism program & I purchased this book for myself to read but passed it on to his teachers & aides. They all read this and said it was very informative & conatined information that they were never aware of. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has or knows a child with autism.

Good read for teachers!
I chose this book for more understanding about teaching students diagnosed on the Autism spectrum. This book is written candidly by the mother of an autistic son. It is a good read to begin your adventure with an autistic student. I liked that each chapter addressed only one topic.
