you get what you pay for
Okay, it will charge your battery. But it is a dumb charger, i.e., it does not know when your battery is actually full, and it takes a long time to charge an empty one. What you save with the low cost of the charger, you will lose with the shorter life of your batteries. Investing in a smart charger that charges faster and lets batteries live longer is the better move. But if you can afford to buy cheap, go ahead.

Have VHF needs? Consider this Vendor.
My original NC-88B died as a result of a power glitch but saved my charging cradle and radio. I couldn't find a replacement charger. I found the charger listed in stock by Vertex. I ordered the NC-88B from Vertex and learned it is out of production upon arrival of the replacement part the vendor sent me. Vertex was quick to ship and it arrived very quickly. I've used it twice to recharge my radio and it seems to be performing as well as my original charger
