Necessary compliment to a great lens
All lenses need a hood, at a minimum to keep your fingers off the front element! A 21mm requires a hood to help mitigate flare. Metal, and secure in-attachment to front of lens. Not cheap, but necessary!

ZM 21/25 shade is handsome
Like the square hood, it looks handsome on zm 21/4.5. Not try on 25/2.8 yet. Got small scratch on the hood, should be normalFor metal hood

If you have a Zeiss 21 or 25 you must get this hood. Not only is it necessary companion to the lens for protection and glare but it doubles as a front platform for capturing shots when a tripod isn't available. Depending on your camera (mine is a Sony A7r) a small, thin block of wood (I carry balsa) can be used as a shim to perfectly level your camera/lens. This hood is not cheap but neither was the lens. And if your buying Zeiss lenses you probably paid good money for the camera. It's worth the price.
