The Best Model Kit I Built So Far
This is the best model kit I ever built from Tamiya so far! The details are great and it's easy to build. When I normally build model tanks, it's usually a lengthy process where I assemble a lot of parts. The more parts there is to a model kit, the better the details and realsim. That was traditional thinking that model builders believed. Tamiya has tooken the old school ideas of a great kit and turned it upside down. Instead of making a complicated model, they decided to make a complicated looking model that has fewer parts to assemble but still looks very real! They first decided to use entire piece of metal as the main body of the tank. The metal body gives the model a good weight that makes you feel that the kit is substantial and worth your time to build. Second instead of using the traditional "rubber band" type tracks they decided to use make the tracks more realistic by using small pieces of plastic tracks where you glue them together. In order to aid your building of these tracks, they included a jig for you to properly shape the track realistically; that's very inovative for Tamiya. Lastly, many of the parts that would normally be assembled piece by piece in a 1/35 scale tank has been molded right on the hull of the tank instead. You might think this would make it unrealistic but because it's in a smaller scale in 1/48, it looks realistic. I had so much fun building this kit! It was so much fun because it was easy to build and it still looks very realistic in 1/48 scale. It looks as good as the 1/35 scale. I highly reccomend this kit with an average model building skills. I'm sure you will be as happy as I was when I first built this kit. Highly reccomended.

thank you Japan no Takara!
i ordered this 1/48 early tiger for my husband. i was happy with the prompt delivery, constant communication from the shipper, and the condition upon arrival. 5/5 Now, for the tank itself. the diecast chassy is a plus for my avid modeler. the weight is nice, and yes it requires glue but thats not been an issue. the multi linked tracks are challenging but rewarding. when the option of rubber tracks or linked tracks are available we usually go linked tracks...the cat takes the rubber as a play thing! the detail on this scale is impressive. and in compairison to the Late Tiger i picked up at the begining of the month, this one has lovely features that were dropped towards the end of the war. overall 5/5 for the tank. the instructions have lists of the paints needed from bottles to sprays.

Nice, detailed tank but the tracks and metal chassis drove me nuts!
The tank is very detailed, everything fit very well as is usual with Tamiya models. But the tracks are separated into many little sections and have to be glued individually and this drove me nuts. I also did not like the metal chassis as it required instant clue (aka super glue) and my acrylic paints did not stick it very well. But other than those 2 things, this is another good quality Tamiya model.

Nice Little Weight
I made a mistake thinking it was 1:35 scale instead it's 1;48 So, I gave it a shot. As the result it was easy to built and highly detail/ I like that it has a metal die-cast lower hull which gave a nice weight and feel. However, it's a little for my small interest.

Tamiya 1/48 Tiger 1
I bought this kit when I was still a beginner modeler. Looking back I wish I would have waited till I had more experience so I could have built it a little nicer. Still it's a good quality kit. The lower hull is pre-primed die cast metal, which makes it heavier and,in my opinion, a more realistic weight for a tank. As with all Tamiya kits, the instructions are excellent and they were really thinking of the modeler with this one. There are indentations inside the turret that can be drilled out for perfect positioning of spare tracks on the turret. All in all a great kit.

Very good product! Just a lot of pieces you have to seperate. Hard for a 5 year old with their dad, but probably good for a child older.

Die Verarbeitung der Modellteile ist gut. Anleitung ist auch verständlich, sowie die tarnung- und Beschriftungen sind geschichtlich korrekt und akzeptabel.

Everything is perfect but I would only recommend this kit for people who are slightly experienced with model kits
