I am 5' 8" 160# and the XL fit tighter than an 80's hair band spandex outfit. The XXL fits better, but shows that I need to drink less beer. 50 SPF should keep my lily white skin safe while waiting for my slalom run. Review: Fantastic product, great price, great for BJJ/Grappling - This is my fifth O'Neill rashguard I have bought for BJJ/Grappling over the past few years, and I couldn't be happier with them. I am a BJJ black belt with over 15 years in the art, and have gone through a ton of gear over the years. O'Neill rashguards are the best quality, best fitting shirts I have worn; every time I experiment and buy a popular (and much more expensive) shirt from an MMA/BJJ company I always end up disappointed in either the quality or the fit. And then I promise myself I will never buy anything but O'Neills again. The MMA/BJJ companies try to tell you that their product is different than "surf" rashguards and conduct heat away from the body better. That is BOLLOCKS. I live in Texas and train in 100 degree plus heat with no AC in the summer, and if there was any difference, I would feel it and know it. O'Neill's are soft, snug, comfortable, and look really sharp without any skulls or blood trying to show how tough you are. I am 6'1", 175-180lbs, medium frame, and the long sleeve XL rashguards all fit me perfectly. This is the first online review I've ever posted about anything, so take that into account. :)

Great Shirt but runs VERY small!
Picked this shirt up for our 7 day Caribbean cruise. I read the reviews stating that it runs small and luckily I did. I am 6' and 173 lbs. Not big by any stretch and usually I get large shirts. After seeing that they are small I decided to try the XL and I'm glad I didn't go any smaller. The XL is tight on me. It fits, but it is VERY snug. Granted, it is supposed to be able to go under a wet suit, but compared to my short sleeve O'Neill swim shirt, this is like a second skin. If you are over 180 lbs I wouldn't even entertain anything under a XXL. Outside of the sizing, the shirt is awesome. I used it under the intense Caribbean sun and never had any issues. Quality is great, very comfortable and so far the color hasn't run, but that may change as it goes through the wash and more UV beating. As I said, I also have an O'Neill short sleeve and while that is a little more casual and doesn't look like I walked off the beach, this is still my favorite. Not having to deal with worrying about applying sun screen on my arms, chest and back all the time is more than a fair trade off for a cool shirt.

Well made product
I'm 6'3 and 280lbs so at first wasn't sure if the 3xl would fit because o'neill along with other well known brands for surfing tend to run small with the apparel. It turns out that it fits perfectly for what it is intended for- surfing. The comfortability is 5 stars. Other rashguards tend to give me neck rashes when using for long periods in the water. Due to the stitching of the neck on this rashguard and the way it was constructed no more neck rashes at all! Will be buying another one.

but like a lot of other people I was concerned about ...
I haven't yet worn this in the water, but like a lot of other people I was concerned about the sizing when I made my purchase. While there was a mention or two in reviews for larger people, as someone who is 6'4" and nearly 300 lbs I wasn't sure this would fit. I went ahead and ordered a size larger than normal and it fits about like I expected. The 3XL is tight to put on, but I attribute that mainly to my large shoulders, as after I got it over them it slipped on just fine. As you'd expect with a man of my size wearing a nylon and spandex shirt, it's not the most flattering, but it fits well, I have good movement in it, and let's be honest; it can't be any worse than seeing me without a shirt. Another bonus, since black is a slimming color, maybe I'll look smaller than I actually am! (ok, probably not) Since I bought it for swimming, I'm not going to be strutting it around town, wearing it to work, or even leaving it on while I'm home, but I'm more than confident it will do just fine for my intended use. I was just as concerned with the length of it as I was the width as most of my height comes from my torso and I normally have to wear "tall" shirts, but the length was more than adequate and I may not even have to use the boardshorts connector to keep it from rolling up on my stomach.
