Don't leave home without it!!
I was going to Milan for the first time last month so I bought Streetwise Milan. Whenever I go to a new city, I always buy the Streetwise map. I have about 15 Streetwise maps and they are perfect for sightseeing in a new city. The Milan map is limited but 95% of the places that a tourist would visit are on the map. It is an old city so almost everything is in the central area within a 30 minute walk of the Cathedral and that is covered by the map. The map is small and compact so it is easy to take with you and easy to read. It is also laminated so you don't have to worry about it ripping or getting wet. Subway stations and main sights and hotels are easily marked for identification. These are great maps.

Don't go to Milan without it.
I would recommend this product to everyone visiting milan,It shows all the major landmarks that you would want to visit, The Central Railway Station and Cadorna Station(to Malpensa airport)The metro system and their locations on the streetmap. It also shows most hotels in the city which is really handy.(especially when first arriving)It folds up 22cm X 10cm, so it fits nicely into a back pocket or handbag, Has a protective laminate coating so you can look at the map when it's raining and don't have to worry about it falling to bits.

THE BEST MAPS
Great maps! I have a bunch of them for when I travel. Sometimes, a hard map gives such a better idea of where you are in a strange city than does GPS.

Basic map, best used with the map described in the review.
Not a bad map. It was handy to pull out of my "man bag" without ripping. But it is limited if you hope to use the wonderful mass transit in Milan, which is far more than metro as there are trams and buses. I ended up buying a map "Milano Mezzi Pubblici" (which has plasticized pages for durability) for 5 Euros at a street kiosk as a supplement. The advantage of the "Pubblici" map is that it shows the routes and stops of trams and buses as well as the metro. We spent a week in Milan and used nothing but public transport and it would have been very difficult to do without the supplemental "Pubblici" map (photos attached to review). Indeed, the "Pubblici" map illustrated three separate tram lines that were within 3 blocks of our apartment, something that I could not have figured out from the Streetwise map alone. It made it possible to figure out quickly how to get to the main train station and most sights. That said, after I figured out the routes, the Streetwise map was handy to use although the "Pubblici" went along as a reference as it folds out into a larger (and consequently more readable) map which at times was not convenient, although there was an expanded map of the center of town to open to that was easy to open and covers most tourist stops. Anyway, the maps complement each other and I liked having both. The Milan metro system has a website that also can show you travel options by inputting your address and destination address at the www site atm-mi.it

Sturdy, accurate, a must have for walking around the city
I love the Streetwise maps. I recently bought this map of Milan and we carried it everywhere on our one week visit. It is accurate, easy to read, and very durable. I have many Streetwise maps of major cities and they have all proven their worth, and years later they are still in very good condition too.

small but thorough
I gave this as a gift, having used the paris version on another trip. Its small, portable and water resistant. A handy travel map for sure

Good detail, easy fold-up
Most of Milan is included in two large sections. There's a more detailed map of the Milan City center near the Duomo where most of the tourist sites are located. There's also a metro map. The Streetwise map series is laminated and fairly easy to fold up so only the part of the city you need is shown.
