Rich color, nice application
We were going to give up on sealing my daughter's wedding invitations with wax until I discovered this stuff. The color was really lovely and easy to use, but it takes some technique, so practice a bit first. I found it worked best using a little more than I thought I'd need, waiting a second or two before using the stamp, holding the stamp a while, and then waiting. Each invitation took about 30 to 40 seconds to really set well. I ordered way more than I needed. The description said each package makes 70-100 seals. We sent 125 invitations, so I bought 2 packages, but I didn't even finish the first package. We had a 1/2" stamp, so the seals weren't huge.We used heavy stock folders and these stamps held them closed, yet opened easily without tearing the paper. One of the guests said he thought he'd gotten an invitation to Hogwarts when he saw it!

I was super nervous to tackle wax seals on my wedding invitations
I wanted to write a review for BRIDES. I was super nervous to tackle wax seals on my wedding invitations. We used them to "seal" our picket envelope (used double sided tape to hold it down & put seal over it). These worked PERFECTLY! Some tips--push some of the stick through in order to ensure no glue is left over in the gun because that will cause the stamp to stick to the wax. Let the glue gun heat up all the way. You should see heat coming from the wax when you lay it down. Obviously do a few practice seals. I dipped my stamp after every seal & YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE SEAL FOR AT LEAST 30-40 SECONDS! if you pull up too soon it will stick to the stamp. Overall, this was pretty easy. I ordered two packages, but only used one for about 120 invites, with a small 1-2 inch seal. Will use the rest for my thank yous!

Way Better Than Wax Beads!!
Very easy to use. Much easier than the melting wax beads. I used a regular sized glue gun on the low heat setting. The wax works perfectly and does not stick to the metal stamp. It dries and looks great, I sealed 70 wedding invites and they all looked so good. Switching colors or waxes isn’t easy (you have to deplete the wax stick in the glue gun first) but glue guns are cheap enough I have a set of glue guns that are dedicated to wax seals and I have a mini glue gun that I use for regular gluing and crafting and everything else.

Fast and convenient, but not exactly the same as tradtional wax.
Much faster than "candle style" sealing wax. However, like another reviewer, I noticed that the result was more transparent than the "candles" I have used in the past. When stamping, the pattern often exposed the white of the envelope underneath, and often we got the same "strings" pulling off with our stamp (glue-gun users will know what I mean). The advice-tip of frequently dipping your stamp in ice water (then blotting on a towel) to ensure a clear stamp with less pulling and "strings" is worth repeating here. They perfectly fit our standard glue gun, but I used at least 1/2 of the first stick of wax pushing out the old glue and then making it "run-true" (not a mixture of glue and wax). I rather expected that would happen. You might want to purchase a new glue gun exclusively for sealing wax.If you are doing a lot of holiday cards or invitations, it is likely to be worth it, but know that the results are not going to be exactly the same as true sealing wax. Oh, and don't stack your envelopes on top of each other until they have fully cooled and dried! (which takes slightly longer than traditional sealing wax... or maybe I'm just not used to turning out seals on multiple envelopes so quickly).A good product if you know what you are getting into, and adjust your expectations accordingly. We will likely use these again because the speed and convenience.

dull finish
This wax is thin and has a dull finish. The wax melts fine and produces a seal but I'm just not used to the finish. Other wax that I've used has a nice gloss finish and is thick and durable.

Useless as sealing wax.
Useless as actual sealing wax. Works well to create a decorative "seal" which does not actually seal. You will have to then adhere with glue or double sided tape to your project.

Temperature sensitive, rubbery, peels off easily.
So this “wax” came off way too easily from my envelopes. I actually sent a test run through the mail and they made it to their destinations but were easily popped of with a single swipe of a finger nail. They were all sent locally so who knows if they would have popped off if they had to go across country. However the upside is that the don’t break or crack... The consistency was so rubbery you could lift off the seal from the paper with ease. It’s very red, not cranberry which to me would be a little more burgundy, like cranberry sauce. This is literally just dark red.I've attached pics because there is a learning curve with this wax. If it gets too hot it spreads too much when you lay your seal down, my glue gun on low was too low and high was too high- so I put it on high then put it on low and when it became difficult to squeeze out wax, I put it back on high. Rinse and repeat! Lol. The seals I made on my cookie sheet came out the best, then I used hot glue to attach the envelope. The seal is too rubbery to break when you open the envelope anyway. The positive is it’s easy to use, the negative is it’s so sensitive when heating. Really let it set before dropping your seal and do your own test runs.

This was brilliant! I wanted to wax seal my sons' Harry ...
This was brilliant! I wanted to wax seal my sons' Harry Potter invites with the Hogwarts emblem, however was not looking forward to the daunting thought of the traditional wax seal process. When I found out you could create them using a hot glue gun and found this sealing wax in the perfect color I thought I'd try it out. I'm so glad I did! Quick, easy to use and excellent results! Will be ordering more to do my friend's wedding invites with their initials. Highly recommend!
