Hotel Paradise: Nothing Is As It Seems Paperback – May 13, 2014

Living through the 1994 Northridge Quake there were so many chapters in the book that I could relate to. While you are going through the process of rebuilding you want to pull your hair out or just sit down and cry but this book allows you to look at it from a distance and see how comical the situations can be. I know that names must have been changed to protect the innocent but I could have sworn that I knew some of those characters personally. The character development was superb. This was a very entertaining read. Some times I felt like I was right there in the hotel with them. Read and enjoy this is a fabulous read.

In the real world this is a cautionary tale of the unexpected that can happen to us catching us unaware, changing our lives told with pathos and levity. It is inspiring and hilarious . There were many levels of excellent writing. It was informative and highly entertaining at the same time It was a fast moving story and full of unique one of a kind characters.. Loved it!!!! Great to read a book without profanity all the way through. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I read the book in one afternoon. I enjoyed following Carol and Charles on their journey from the disaster of the earthquake to their new home and future. There were a few surprises along the way which kept me guessing which direction the Devereaux's would head. I'm glad a friend recommended that I read this book.

A great read. The characters are interesting and extremely amusing. Enjoyed every minute. I didn't want it to end. :-)

This is really a book you don't put down, it is very interesting and really captivates your attention. I could very well see this book being a movie some day, Howard Avedis being from the industry has a special talent with his past experience and talent knows how to put much of his imagination and thoughts in making this a great story.Gary Hilde, Dana Point, CA.
