Halloween 2025
Used this as part of my Coraline Halloween costume last year, and it was absolutely perfect. It was cheap, came fast, and was immaculate quality. It was too long, so I cut it, but after that, it was good to go!

Works great, even in hot hawaiian rain
I'm 5'2" so this coat hangs down to just above my ankles which is great. It keeps me completely dry. I wear it to ride my bicycle to the bus stop on rainy days and not only does it make me highly visible to drivers, it keeps me fairly dry. My knees and face got a little wet but it kept most of me dry and I didn't have to worry about any loose ends that could get caught on my wheels or chain. This is a fairly lightweight full rain coat that easily rolls up and fits into my backpack and doesn't weigh a ton. As I stood at the bus stop, it started to come down hard. Others only kept their heads dry under their umbrellas. The rain was coming in sideways so their bags, legs, and feet were soaked. I was dry from head to toe thanks to my trusty yellow raincoat. It was great. The vented back helped a little bit with the heat. It gets humid here so it was nice that i could feel some breeze through the coat. It was big enough that I could have my backpack on, put the coat over me and turn my back to the rain so all my belongings were kept dry. Obviously I couldn't button it, but I was just standing there waiting for the bus so I was fine. It is a little big for me so I sometimes have to roll the sleeves up about an inch or two but other than that, its a great coat for a great price.

Good value
A great price for a known item. Sleeves are very long and I could've gone a size smaller, so I guess it runs true to size. Definitely worth the money.

Best buy of the year!
The other day I was caught in a downpour. When I say downpour I mean D-O-W-N-P-O-U-R! I spent about 10 seconds (or less) running from my car into Dillard's. I was absolutely and positively soaked! I could wring out my hair, it was so bad. I realized then that I needed to keep some sort of raincoat in the car, again. Actually, I have an SUV and I keep a duffel bag in the car with all kinds of emergency schtuff. I used to live in Alaska and that was pretty much required. Old habits, die hard, I guess. Anyway, to my dismay there was nothing in that bag for rain. What was I thinking?! After searching around here at Amazon, I decided that this was the one I wanted. What a great buy! It is much better than I thought it would be. Below are my pros and cons: + Has a flap around the snaps, to prevent water from getting through the openings between snaps. + Is longer than I expected. It goes down to my mid-calf and I'm tall. + Has a soft inner lining. Actually, that should be softer. It's not baby soft but beats rubber against your skin. + Has arm pit air holes. + It comes in a fairly good quality zippered bag, so can be folded and put back into the bag for my car's duffel. + Price, price, price!!! - Hood is detachable. This was a problem also in Alaska. It's been my experience that all hoods that detach get lost. We're talking several hundred dollar parkas that have missing hoods. THAT gets very upsetting and this may be no different (except price of course). A rain coat is only worn in the rain, so a hood is a necessity. There should be no reason to remove it. For an in-the-middle observation, it's neither thick nor thin. It's not as thick as I would have liked it to be (if I could wave my magic wand), but it is thicker than I expected to be, especially after reading all the angry thickness reviews. I saw that they said it was designed to fit over your clothes, but I still went one size up. I now live in Mobile, Alabama (yeah, the exact opposite of Alaskan weather) where it rains all the time, even in winter. For this reason, I wanted it to fit over my somewhat-winter coat too. This coat was actually bigger than I expected. If I had to do it again, I'm not sure I'd go one size up. Just thought that may be helpful to some. Maybe not. The quality is average, but I'd say better than Walmart clothes. Most of my Walmart clothes begin falling apart after their first wash, if that long. I don't expect this to have any problems, unless mistreated. All in all, I'm very pleased and I highly recommend it.

Timeless Classic - Does What it Says on The Tin - Great Deal!
This timeless classic yellow raincoat is long enough to hang down a couple of inches past the tops of my 16 inch high PVC boots - so truly, I'm protected by delicious poly vinyl carbonate from head to toe. If you're unsure about what size to order, go large - not because these coats run small, but because rain is often accompanied by cold. I'm 6'2" and 200 lbs, and am able to fit into this 3XL raincoat and move comfortably, even with a thick, warm sweater and arctic fleece jacket underneath. The hood is a generous size - it includes room for a thick double-knit cap on the head. There's even room for a small day pack or book bag underneath the raincoat, for that 'Hunchback of Notre Dame' look - with the added novelty that the entire pack stays dry, both inside and out! I'll agree with other reviewers who said the pockets are a weak point; they're really just for show. An inside pocket or two would make more sense. As with all new PVC products, expect a distinct odor, which will fade within a week or so - If you find it bothers you, hang the raincoat in a garage or bathroom with an open window or exhaust vent. At a higher price, I might have given this just four stars - it won't last forever - but at $13.95, if it lasts even one rainy season, it's a good deal for the money.

not bad. Good for at home use
I bought this for a trip up backpacking/camping in the mountains so this coat got a pretty rugged test it may not have been intended to be used for. The fit is good and it provides great rain coverage down to the knees. It is easy to button up and down even in wet/muddy conditions. I kept my gopro in the front pocket to take pics of whatever while on my trip. After a day of taking the camera in and out of the pocket, the pocket ripped at the seem. It does not breath well at all. (Keep in mind I was up and down ridges hiking all day). I didn't use the hood, so I can't comment on that. This will be a great rain coat for doing yard work or other more domestic activities. It definitely would not be a great choice to use in a more extreme environment just because I don't think it would stand up to the punishment very long and it does not breathe well

Awesome Rain Coat
I read the many rave reviews and was still shocked by the high quality design and workmanship of this $14 coat. It's rainy season on the Oregon coast and we plan to hike the trails and stroll the beach, rain or shine. This coat would probably keep me dry even if I worked on a fishing boat in gale force winds. So it far exceeds my needs and expectations for a relaxing seaside vacation. It is designed with carefully considered "work gear" standards and features: "storm sturdy" construction to prevent leakage, including a covered vent in the back for breathability, snaps at the wrists to keep rain out, a snuggy cloth neck collar, a cinchable hood, large pockets with generous cover flaps on the front and envelope snaps down the front will definitely keep me dry. I'm 5'4", 170 lbs and a medium size is large enough for a sweatshirt underneath with room to spare. It hits me about mid calf, which I wanted for possible blowing rain. But it can easily be shortened with scissors. If you're

"Disposable" rain coat, it should say
If you want to use this once and throw it away, go ahead and get it. It's cheap because it falls apart after one use! I wore it once and by the end of the day there were holes everywhere, as the yellow protective layer (the 0.35mm waterproof layer they advertise) flakes off easily and lets water in, particularly under the arms and on the elbow part of the sleeve, but also the shoulders and pockets. Not something for daily use; more like something to keep in the car for an emergency (if you have to change a tire in the rain, for example) so you can use it and buy another one for the next emergency. Cheap for a reason, which is fine if that suits your needs, but I was hoping for something that would last at least a week (actually I was hoping it would last at least a season, but for $8 I guess I should not have expected as much.) I feel the word "heavyweight PVC" is false advertising when it falls apart so easily. Cheap plastic buttons that connect the hood to the coat come apart very easily too, which is not fun when you have to pull back the hood and put it on. The hood is a good size to fit over hats, but you can't drive with it because it covers your peripheral vision, so if you're getting in and out of a car in the rain you have to pull the hood back to drive and then put it on when you get out, so a zipper would have been a better design idea. Just sayin'. I gave it one star for "Light weight" because it's way too light weight, not because it isn't light weight. I gave it one star for "Warmth" because it will not keep you warm, especially with all the holes and the water it lets in). I gave it one star for "Value for money" because it's not worth $8 for me to be dry for only a few hours. This may be different for you, depending on your salary, but I am not rich so I hope to get more use out of an $8 item. If you want to go for it, the medium fit over my clothes well (I'm 5' 11", 145lbs, for size comparison). I'm happy with the way Amazon handled the return, at least.

Nice quality
I got this for my daughter's Coraline costume. For the price it is a really good coat. For an 11 year old, I needed to fold in the sleeves and we taped the coat up inside because it reached her feet. Other than that, it looked really good, was the right width and was suitable for the crazy weather we had this year. The top back has air vents too.

Love the length of this
I have not used this product yet as there has not been any rain.It looks good though and if there are no leaks I am quite happy with it

Emergency use only
Got one good wear out of it before it came apart. Hardly touched the pocket and the seam came apart. 3 stars for the price, could be good in an emergency but not suitable for multiple uses.
