The size you require depends on the age of the player concerned and also the sex of the player. A size 5 basketball, is designed for players up to age 9. The ball has a circumference of 27.75" and weighs approximately 18oz. A size 6 basketball, is designed for players between the ages of 9 to 12. This is also the ball specified for Women. The ball has a circumference of 28.5" and weighs approximately 20oz. A size 7 basketball, is designed for all male players, 13 years and above. The ball has a circumference of 29.5" and weighs 22oz. Good ball but was defective
I really like the way this ball feels. However, the one I got from Amazon was defective. The leather started coming up at the seams after just one week of use (on indoor courts only). Very disappointing. I had to return it. Others have this ball and haven't had that problem so I don't know if I was just unlucky or what. It makes me question Spalding's quality assurance.

Good ball and the one our State uses for playoffs - but not as good a ball as the Wilson Evolution. Sorry

Air leakage
Bought this ball 2 years ago. Played not too many times. But now have to put in air every day. Air leakege all over the ball between black lines. Not worth it at all. Its not old fashioned TF-1000 anymore.

A good backyard ball
A great backyard bball. Really nice grip. After much use the ball becomes suede like and changes to a reddish color. Nevertheless, a great ball that will wear out after a couple of years.

Great ball
This is a great basketball. I both both spalding tf-1000 and Wilson B0700 at the same time to compare. From my experiences, i like the Wilson better, Wilson has better leather feeling and grip.
