large sized
I like a tighter fitting oven mitt, a bit too loose

Bought 2 different brands - I burned my hand with these
I purchased a pair of these at the same time I purchased this brand: Terry Oven Mitts Commercial Grade 2-Pack Color Cream so I could compare the two before purchasing more (my son needs new oven mitts but I wanted to test a couple of brands out before buying a pair for him). After using both pairs for several months (and burning my hand), I am not happy with these. When I bought both brands, they were close to the same price . Now, these are considerably more expensive.Unlike the other brand which is labeled, these don't have a tag so I am wondering if they are a generic mitt? Normally I wouldn't necessarily care but, like a few other reviewers, I burned my hand while using this brand of oven mitts. I was baking a banana pudding at 400 degrees and the heat cut right through even though the mitt was dry and is rated for 600 degrees. So, I am now using the other brand exclusively.Compared to the other brand, these are thinner, lighter in weight and do not provide protection from the heat like they should. I did like the extra arm protection that the 17" length provides and the fact that they fit both my husband and adult son, too - and they are large-framed guys - but they don't provide protection at higher temperatures. I'll be purchasing 2 sets of the other brand - 1 more pair for myself and a pair for my son.

Heat resistant but sheds fluff everywhere
The heat resistance of these oven mitts is as advertised: I was able to grab a 550-degree cast iron pan and the mitts only felt a little warm inside. However, the design / quality of these mitts is terrible. There are some inside seams that are surrounded bunch of loose fluffy material. The material is constantly shedding.Edited this review after washing the mitts (which most people probably do BEFORE using! duh) -- The fluff does consolidate and stick together after washing and drying. My husband says they are still shedding, but it's much better than before. Upgraded from 2 stars to 4.

terry cloth commercial oven mitts
The mitts work well, although they didn't protect me as I thought they would. I somehow thought that a mitt rated for up to 600 degrees, would make me superman around the oven. But they are the best mitts I have and a real good value.. They do what they are advertised to do, Keep in mind like all fabric heat protectors, once they get wet, unlike silicone mitts, which are not as heat protective, they are worthless until they dry out.. These commercial grade mitts are a valuable tool to any kitchen, but its up to the cook to choose the proper tool..Sincerely, inner child

Saves my skin.
I love these! I am a lunch lady and our steamer at school is wicked. I have burned myself on a few occasions. No matter how I would approach the container to remove, steam would still get me. I received a couple really bad burns. These come up far enough that I haven't had problems with the steam any longer.I will warn that once these get wet from the steam, they do not insulate to remove hot items from the oven. Found that out the hard way. A pair for each would be a good idea. Don't use wet ones on oven items but it does still work with the items from the steamer.I would definitely buy again and probably will.

Wow !!!!
I love how long they are. You know how you reach in and the ^}%# rack above touches your arm and scorches your skin? Well, not with these. My forearms are protected. I have large hands, large forearms. These might feel big for an average woman but I recommend you use them anyway. Men will be comfortable with them, even when barbq ing.I finish-cooking steaks in the oven. The handles of the pans are really hot. But I can't feel the heat with these gloves. I actually leave a separate potholder on the handles when I remove the pan from the oven so I won't (once again) grab the handles barehanded. They do their job.

They work as advertised. We use them in a ...
They work as advertised. We use them in a commercial bakery and kitchen, and they do wear out after a couple of months of hard use. But I haven't found a product that lasts any longer, so we'll stick with these.

they are ok
I think they are just a little big for me. I find them to be uncomfortable. Maybe someone with longer arms or larger hands would like these. I have them hanging in the kitchen. They make a fine decoration.
