I started noticing my desk building up with cables and once my wife got frustrated that she couldn't find the right cable because, and I quote " You have so many cables over here I have no idea whats going on!! " I decided I better do something about it. I seen this Quirky Cordies and thought I would give it a try. My wife is pleased. So this product automatically gets 10,000 stars out of 5! Just teasing. The product actually is very handy and a neat way to organize your cables. Cheap too! I have provided a video review and I encourage you to watch it to see the product better. The base is weighted so it stays put pretty nice. It holds several style cables as well. On that note, with the new FLAT style cables that are becoming more and more popular over time, you will find those don't stay put as well. They tend to slide out if you have this hanging. No, it doesn't say to hang it..and the cables stay put if its laying flat. BUT I wanted to hang mine with some 3M tape..and they wouldn't stay put very well. Not knocking a star for that..thats just something I wanted to do. All in all I am giving the Quirky Cordies a 5 star review for its design & functionality. Works as advertised! I recently built a desk with a nice finish, so I was looking for a desktop cable management solution that didn't involve any adhesives (which could potential leave residue or damage the finish upon removal). Quirky Cordies did the job. The base is weighted nicely with what feels like a solid metal interior and a matte textured rubber exterior that doesn't want to slide all over the place. Before purchase I was worried I may have issues with cords pulling the unit off the desk, but that hasn't been an issue at all. It's not going anywhere. Works great for my assortment of USB, AC adapter, firewire, ethernet, display and audio cables. However, be warned of unbranded knock-off versions being sold by some sellers (that are fulfilled by Amazon!). Here's how to tell the difference between the Quirky branded items and the knock off items (I will attach pictures as well): The knock of versions have a strong, nasty odor (made the whole room stink as soon as I opened the Amazon shipping box). The box and packaging is smaller and lower quality than the branded version (no instruction booklet either, not that it's needed). The item itself and box contains no Quirky logo or branding (the branded version has a quirky logo and name on the bottom of the item, as well as in multiple places on the box). The rubber does not look or feel quite as nice as the branded version. The vertical grips are less rigid (flex easier) than the branded version. The vertical grips on the branded version are either made with stronger rubber, or are reinforced with a metal interior (hard to tell). The diameter of the circular hole that goes through the center of all the vertical grips is slightly wider on the unbranded version. For reference, "Finders Keepers Shops" has sent me 3 legit, branded versions (2 separate orders). "Mile2014" has sent me 2 unbranded versions (which were returned). Based on the many recent reviews complaining of strong odor, I'm guessing many sellers are selling these unbranded versions. I'm disappointed with Amazon. These are Prime, "Fulfilled by Amazon" sellers. In my case, the seller that sent the unbranded version was even the default seller selected when clicking "add to cart" on the main product page. I expected better seller quality control on Amazon's part for Prime items that they fulfill. Note: in the pictures, the branded version is always on the right, unbranded on the left

I love this cord organizer. I bought one originally from simply organized a couple of years ago. When it was time to buy another one, they stopped selling it. The store did have other products, which I did buy and they were never as good. The other products required you to apply an adhesive to stick to your desk. The adhesive would be so sticky it would be almost impossible to remove it without damaging your desk. I was excited to see this product being sold on amazon. This cord organizer is great. There's noting fancy about it. It separates cords and it keeps it in place. The bottom part has some weight to it, so it does not move or fall off your desk. The dividers are separated enough so you can slip cords in and out without using a ton of effort. I use this cord organizer as a charging station, I charge my cell phone, iPad, and lap top and it works great. I think if the cords are too thick then they might not fit into the dividers. Over all great product.

OK. I bought two of these, one in black and one in white. Unfortunately they are not identical. I will point out the differences below. Functionality: I really like this product. It holds the cables as advertised. I currently have 3 cables being held by the device and have had no issues. I could see how the cable could possibly come out from the top since it is a little loose, but I haven't seen that issue. Besides, if I did have that problem, I think i would simply stick a pencil through the hole as it has been suggested and that would solve the problem. I think that because I keep the wires fairly taught, they stay put and don't come out. Look and feel: This is where I wish I could leave two reviews. The white one is clean and neat. Looks and feels great. I ordered this one for my wife and it looks nice on her night stand. For me, I ordered the black one. Functionally, it works as described above. However, it feels greasy and it smells like a tire. Being next to my nightstand table, I feel like I am sleeping at a Discount Tire store. I am considering throwing it away and ordering another white unit. It is weird that the rubber feels so different on the two. Verdict: white unit is awesome; it does the job as intended and has a nice look to it (I would give it 5 stars). The black one I would give 2 or 3 stars. I would not recommend it to anyone, unless you enjoy the fresh smell of new tires wherever it is that you will be keeping this thing.

I liked this product so much that I ordered a second one. I use mine to hold iphone and Kindle cables on the edge my kitchen table, and it works fine. It's not made of heavy metal (lead, cast iron, etc), so it's kind of medium weight -- heavier than aluminum (maybe it's tin underneath, who knows). But I found myself wishing it was heavier, even though it works fine so far, because I can imagine that if my cables were longer or heavier, this might slide off the table. But I can certainly make it heavier myself, by taping some heavier metal to it or something. I think it's an excellent buy for the price, and free shipping too!
