Great simple goal
My son was greatly anticipating the arrival of this goal so we can practice taking shots at it. It arrived today and no lie, it was together, with my 8 y/o sons help, in less than 10 minutes. We were out in the driveway shooting at it as the UPS truck was rounding the corner up the street. Granted, I put together the older Mylec nets when I was a teen so I knew how it was supposed to look. Gave the instructions a quick looking over and then popped it together. Love how simple it is. We shot at it for a good 40 minutes until it was dinner time and it held up well, I even unleashed a few slap shots at it and it was fine. Great starter setup for kids and grown up kids. Worth every penny. The ball and sticks were a bonus and the sticks are perfect for 8-10 year old kids. The ball is great too.

Five for Fighting
This thing took slapshots, sibling brawls, and a surprise attack from the neighborโs golden retrieverโand itโs still standing. Fun for all ages and tough enough to survive our โno rulesโ driveway league. Stanley Cup dreams start here!

Great nets, watch for splinters.
Excellent quality set. The net frame is a hefty pvc pipe that goes together smoothly. The sticks are solid wood, with solid plastic blades that you fix into place with two screws. Overall well made for the price. The nets are front heavy and can tip over in a breeze, so a weight on the back is recommended. 4 stars because the sticks are unfinished wood. The first users got a few tiny splinters so I sanded and sprayed them with shellac. Recommend the set with longer sticks to get more years of use from them.

Perfect. 7 year old (whos the size of a 12 year old) can't get enough of this. Takes it to the tennis courts, uses in the back yard, in the cul-de-sac, where ever he can put it. Very light/easy to move as its PVC. Was very impressed with the net material very study/nice. The color was more maroon then red like in the pic. He liked that a lot (and the ball is pink - his fav!). All around a big hit. Contrary to some of the other reviews we found this very easy to put together. Got as a Christmas gift i was expecting it to be in a box with a picture on it to wrap. It came in a slender long rectangle box that just said hockey on it. We didn't want to wrap that, didn't think he would understand what it was, but it forced us to put it together and wrap that under the tree, very impressive Christmas morning so it worked out. Highly recommend. Hours of fun. Worth it for any street hockey playing boy.

Great product for a good price
I bought this for my son for his 8th birthday. He loves it. They have been playing street hockey on my street for the past two weeks. The set was easy to put together, and made of sturdy pvc plastic piping. The net is made out of nylon, and while it isn't the strongest net, it is strong enough for a street hockey match. The whole goal is light enough that when a car comes through, they can get the nets out of the road really quickly. The sticks are simple, and a good starter sticks. The blade isn't curved, so it is good for ambidextrous use. However you can curve the blade easy enough with your hands. I recommend using some pvc glue to glue the net together if you don't need to take it apart again. It will make the overall strength better.

Well worth every cent
I bought this set for a 6- and an 8-year-old so they could practice in my cement driveway without ruining sticks designed for ice. I suspect that both net and sticks will last far longer than I thought they might. The PVC joints on the net are flexible enough that it sits flush with the cement regardless of a bit of a slope. It's very light in spite of the sturdy base. The boys can carry it in and out of the garage by themselves, which is a big plus for me. The sticks included are thick and solid, and the plastic blades actually screw into them, so no flying blades or duct-tape! When the blades loosen up, all you have to do is to tighten the screws. I don't think either kid could snap one if he tried. If I were going to nit-pick, I would point out that the sticks are rigid enough to significantly inhibit slapshots, but personally I think their durability is an excellent trade-off (and I don't mind a bit if slapshots get practiced where there aren't any windows). It should also be noted that the ball provided with the set is rather large, extremely light, and very squishy. It might boost confidence in a much younger child, but older players will need a real street puck. Also, as previous reviewers have mentioned, there is almost no difference whatsoever between the "left-handed" and "right-handed" sticks, but this hasn't been a problem for us at all (I've got one of each and both kids will use either stick without looking or complaining). I would definitely buy this set again. The boys absolutely love it and play with it daily, and I predict that several cousins will receive it for Christmas.

Ten Year Old and Dad Approved
My son has never played hockey, but recently go into it when he earned a free hat from our local NHL team for reading a bunch of books. I bought him the set as an intro to playing the sport, and it has been the best thing ever, according to him. "I can't stop smiling when I'm playing." "This is so much fun. This is the best". He's over the moon about it, and in just one day I got my money's worth on this set. I'm happy he's playing outside, and he's excited to learn new skills and a new sport. It's unbelievably easy to put together.l, but sturdy. We've put a lot of slapshot's into it already. Sticks are a good length, I only hunch over a bit at 6' when I play. The sticks will wear out, but if my kid actually wears out a toy from excessive use I'll happily replace it.

my son loves it
I bought it for my 4 year old son and his 7 years old brother! The size is perfect for kids and it's really easy to assemble. It's a bit light, so when the wind is strong it moves it a bit, but nothing that prevent the kids to have great fun with it!
