Great cold packs for baseball season!
These packs are awesome! These have come in handy so many times this baseball season for my kids' team and the opposing teams. I keep these in my first aid kit that accompanies me to ALL of my boys' baseball games and practices. They are the perfect size for an eye, elbow, knee, etc... They are a little hard to activate, and I like that because I put them in my boys' baseball bags (in case I am not around with the first aid kit) and if they were too easy to activate they would all be used up before you actually meant to use them. (DUH!) True they don't stay cold very long, but they will stay cold long enough to keep swelling down until you can reassess the injury. If you are like me, you will have more with you so you can pop open another and throw it on the injury, then reassess when it is no longer cool. I highly recommend these for all sports parents.

Good Product!
I was apprehensive about this product because of some negative reviews about the difficulty in activating the packets and, I did have a little trouble with the first couple of packets but once I got the hang of it... no problem! They're a great, short term cold pack. My only real complaint is that they stay cold for a pretty short time but, at least you have something to use until you can get to the frozen peas! :-)

Small ice packs perfect for travel first-aid kits
These ice packs are great for my purposes. Note that they are 4" x 5" as described, which is smaller than the most common size, and some of that measurement is in the sealed edges. This makes them the perfect size for my travel first-aid kits. I usually use them for immediate relief of a turned ankles or kid bumps until a larger ice pack can be obtained. They haven't activated accidentally, and I didn't have trouble activating them. For me, these are replacements for the ones that had activated accidentally.

A Good Cold Pack For Small Areas
These instant cold packs from Dynarex are handy for treating localized areas for a short time. They are rather small, but that's an advantage for me as I keep a couple in my luggage when I travel. They do get very cold, but since they are small there isn't much volume for the reactants inside and they don't hold their temperature very long (maybe 10 minutes as a guess.) They are difficult to activate by hand, and that's why they lose a star in my rating: the "Squeeze Together Here" instruction in bold print on the package is laughable. In fairness to Dynarex, other brands I have tried have the exact same problem, and I realize that you need to make the inner container easy enough to rupture that an average person can successfully activate it, but it can't be so easily activated that any slight compression in a piece of luggage or gym bag combines the reactants. If you have a problem activating the cold pack, just put it on the floor and step on it smartly. Works every time without any issues (I have never had the outer bag rupture.) If you need a small cold pack for short duration activities, these Dynarex packs are a great value and work as well as other brands given their size.

I carry these EVERYWHERE!!!
These are great for bumps and bruises, even cuts. I use these for my boys when someone falls at the zoo, or pinches a finger in something--- I even give them to strangers when I see them go BOOM! I do want to suggest to carry it in something hard-sided because if you just carry it in the bottom of your bag it might open itself up and not be of any use when you need it. These are also great to refill your first-aid kit and the price is really really great especially if you do subscribe and save-- and honestly, forget about finding these at many stores anyhow-- amazon is the place for this purchase!!

They are ok
These do the trick for a small injury. They do not stay cold very long, a little hard to pop but not impossible. I suggest putting it on the floor and banging it. If you can not get it to put with your hand. If you need an ice pack to last a long time do not buy these.

Good deal
These are a good sized ice pack. Not big enough to wrap an entire limb, but use 2 and ace wrap and you're all set. Dunno what the complainers are going on about, except being ignorant of what an instant ice pack IS and how they work. They won't last an hour, no, but, you're only supposed to keep ice on 20 mins max anyway. And for an emergency situation these are ideal. They store well, not easily damaged or accidentally activated, and the sooner you get ice on the better, so these fit the bill perfectly. These are also the best priced instant cold packs I've found on amazon, at $16/24pack with free shipping.

Defected and not eligible for return.
I bought these ice packs to bring with me on my vacation. I didn't think I had to try them all out to see if they would work. I assumed they would. The first four, I wrote off as duds, but by the 5th one, I realized they were defective. They never got cold. Now, they say it's not eligible for return. Not fair.
