This is an amazing Barbie house. It's big enough to be used by many other similar-height dolls, too. I have to say, it was extremely easy to put together. Every piece has a number sticker. The instructions are good, too, only once did I have something backwards. All the nuts and bolts are very clearly marked - they come in a plastic container (hidden between several pieces of the house), and each different type is in its own separate section, so you open just the one you need, one at a time - very, very easy and headache-eliminating. There are also several sets of the same screw, but their tips are color-coded, so that you can use the right one to match the design - so the blue screw will blend into the blue siding of the house, and so on (that part takes some planning, so we didn't worry about matching). Assembly does take up to 3 hours, maximum, but it's not difficult - the numbered pieces really reduce arguments, lol. It's huger than I expected - it's very tall, and will be over a 6YO head. Contrary to other reviews, I think the house is very sturdy and the wood is much thicker than I expected. It's a very strong board, vs the actual Barbie house, which is like cardboard. That there are several floors actually makes the entire thing more stable - it's put together with several interlocking bolts. Even the furniture pieces are made of a very thick wood. Even if it's particleboard, doesn't matter - it's very durable and sturdy. Few notes: Take all the pieces out first and put them in numerical order so you can work faster, and keep in mind a few of the smaller construction pieces are hiding in the tub and other furniture. The piano and lamp come with 3 batteries each already installed - you just need to take out that plastic tab. Although one toy was missing one battery, so we bought just one. Our house had all the screw holes in the right places - I think in manufacturing tons of these, there will be a few duds, but you can probably assume yours will be fine. all in all, it's such a better deal than that teeny Dream House, which costs 3X the price, and is 3X smaller. Also, this being bigger, means many kids can play with it at once. Just make sure you have room for it - it's roughly 5 feet tall by 4 feet wide and over 1 foot deep.

That's a cute and functional BIG dollhouse! I'm trying to write now a decent review for you but let me apologize for my English just in case some lines doesn't make sense. I'm originally from Germany but will try my best. My 4 1/2 years old daughter getting really creative while playing with this dollhouse. For example arranging the bathroom into the living room or the kitchen to the bed room, there are so many ways to get constructive :D Even her Barbie's fit in there just perfect. Also the beach car which is available at any Barbie car dealer has enough space in the attached garage ;> The piano plays one short melody (about 3 sec.) by pressing the key section. It sounds like a mix out of an old Wurlitzer and Synthesizer. The sound is acceptable. The one floor lamp really lights up and switches off automatically after some seconds. Though the elevator is going a bit tight up and down but I could help loosen it by pushing it up and down really fast several times, now it works smoother. The quality of the house is good. I would give it an 8 on a scale from 1-10. I had to fix some minor things. Some parts came with a sort of glued on layer which provide the textures/colors, so some edges peal up a little. But some super crazy glue can fix that. No problem. Also on the hinges to the garage doors were some screws missing and when I assembled the elevator, the wood were kind of breaking off while putting the screws in because the Plexiglas is under some serious tension. I recommend bending it first really good before assembling the elevator, maybe with help of warming it up with a hair dryer (but honestly I don't know if this really would make a difference, I'm not a Plexiglas expert). I was a bit disappointment at first that this happened BUT no problem, all you have to do is writing a short email to the support and they reacted right away very friendly and send a replacement for the missing/broken parts immediately! Excellent! One last thing I want to mention, maybe it helps you to save some time. I did a little mistake in the beginning when assembling the house. Maybe I didn't read the introduction carefully enough or I just was too excited to put it together but whatever, there are some screws in the set with the same number and size but different colors on the head for the different levels on the house. I notice it too late, so I had to fix it in the end to match the right screw colors with the colors of the house. Maybe this problem could be simply bypassed by the manufacturer by calling them (for example) "8a, 8b, 8c, etc..." I think this was a good little investment, I'm sure my daughter will have fun with this dollhouse for a long time, I'm guessing till she 9 or 10 and I wish all her toys would/could last that long. Took a few hours to assemble partly because I couldn't find the darn elevator piece but it was in the furniture box, inside the Tub, wrapped up. TIP: For assembly, use a drill and if you can somehow make a bit out of the allen wrench thingy and put that in a drill as well you can put this thing together under an hour. If you have a hack saw or other doohickey, cut one and leave the other. I have a 7 year old and 4 year old and they are all in at this very moment. Thank you. 5 Star. Great quality. Elevator is a little stiff tough, I think partly because the that particular wall is a tad warped. But I can live with that, still 5 stars. They love all the pieces that come with. Furniture is very sturdy, thick blocky pieces, but still adorable at the same time. Came in a single heavy box. TIP: Have location mapped out where you would like to assemble. TIP: If its going to be a surprise and you want to assemble in a garage or something, have a board ready to slide it onto. You will need two people to move very carefully TIP: Get a drill, it'll speed it up just a tad bit, set the drill to a low torque setting though. TIP: Elevator pieces are in the tub that will be wrapped TIP: Have some music and a drink when you assemble it is a chore TIP: The screws can be color coordinated to the walls they go into. Pick the correct colors. TIP: Record the memory with a video camera when showing the girls

Fabulous doll house! The best I've ever seen! So detailed and beautiful. Fits Barbie dolls perfectly! Has every thing and more a Barbie lover could need. My 5 year old got it for her birthday and she spends hours with it. Best gift I could have gotten her. She loves the furniture. I love how much furniture came with it. And modern and made of good solid wood. The whole house is solid. This house is way better than the actual Barbie dream house. It's way dreamier and cuter I think and cheaper. Yes it took us 4 hours to put together and the instructions were terrible but it's so worth it! Once we figured out the first floor the others were pretty much the same. Even my 1 year old loves it of course her sister makes her play in the bathroom and garage while she gets the rest of the house but she gets a turn once in a while ha ha! The garage even fits the little Barbie convertible in the garage. Even avid Barbie players like the Grandmas love this house. It's way taller than my five year old. She has to use a stool to reach the top floor and even then she can't touch the back wall. The reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 despite my ravings about it is because the back wall on one of the floors doesn't seat in the groove of the wood and falls forward and backward. I had to put a tac to hold it )could just be an assembler's mistake) and the doors come off the fridge and cave in. We need to modify it. But as a consumer and a parent I couldn't be more happy with it. As far as shipping is concerned it came in a good box with no damage and no missing pieces. However I sure was sweating its arrival time. It didn't get shipped till like a few days before it was suppose to arrive and it arrived on the last possible day it said it would arrive. Amazon is usually on time or early. I almost didn't have a birthday present. Perhaps it was the third party's fault but I was NOT happy with shipping time.

My 5 year old daughter loves this doll house. It's very big, she needs a step stool to reach the top floor. Very sturdy and the house itself seems like it's made of good material. The accents/furniture are great, the piano plays sound and the light lights up. Lots of options for remodeling whenever she wants to. The refrigerator door broke off the first day, now it's a "book shelf" so we didn't sweat it. I think that I read in one of the reviews to put it together where ever you plan on keeping it because it was an unstable/difficult move - I didn't find that to be the case at all. Hubby put it together Christmas eve by the tree (it took about 2 hours total) and my son and I moved it into her bedroom a week or so later and it was just fine. Didn't feel like anything was giving nor was it hard to find a place to grab onto for the move. We love it and highly recommend it! Thought it was a great price - especially when comparing to the Barbie houses made of plastic that cost more and aren't as nice. Get it for her...you know you want to play with it too!! :)

My husband & I noticed that our 3 year old daughter gravitated to playing with her friend's dollhouses on playdates so we thought this would be a great Christmas gift. I saw this at Costco, but they had sold out, and Amazon came to the rescue. Were we right! She is over the moon about her dollhouse. It is just beautiful. solidly constructed, and includes so many accessories, it is a great deal considering how big it is and how much it includes--a piano that plays music, a working elevator and a lamp that lights up. I love this toy so much! We asked a neighbor to build it while we were traveling for Christmas, so I can't comment on assembly--but it must take some effort as it uses screws and is solid as a rock once built. We had to move it from downstairs by the tree to her upstairs play area and it took 2 men to move, but held together perfectly. It is about a foot taller than my daughter right now, and she uses a little stepstool to access the top floors comfortably. All of her Barbie sized dolls fit comfortably in the house, and she is using the garage as a stable for horses she also got for Christmas right now. Even her boy friends are impressed because it is so big. :) We are looking forward to many years of pretend play with this lovely doll house. Thanks KidKraft for designing such a fantastic house.

I got this doll house for a great deal and I’m thankful I did because I would not have wanted to pay over $100 for this house. It was ridiculous to put together. I used YouTube to reference and that helped a lot. I also read several reviews stating how the elevator pieces were mixed in with the furniture, the bathtub to be specific. Well, I was missing the elevator pieces all together and had to order them online. I was past the warranty time so I had to pay $10 for the missing pieces and $10 shipping. Such a headache. I recommend if you buy this doll house, only buy if you get it for a great deal, check to make sure you have all the parts when you receive, use YouTube as a reference and most importantly, put it together with a second person. It definitely helps! I would not buy again, or would have returned if I knew what a nightmare it was going to be to assemble. Overall, it’s a nice, fairly sturdy doll house, it fits Barbie dolls perfectly. My girls, 2 and 4 years old seems to like it.

Huge doll house and I can't emphasize that enough. It's extremely well made and durable. It does take some time to put it together but it's worth it. I looked at the Barbie dream house and I just didn't like it. Most of the Barbie stuff seemed cheap,rickety and clumsy. I just couldn't see paying 250 for a not so great looking Barbie house just because it's Barbie. You really don't get that much for the price with them. I read the reviews on this and they are dead on. This is a solid awesome house and my daughter loves it. Comes with excellent furniture that has working lights and sounds. It's so well made it's puts other products to shame. My only warning is make sure you have room for it. It's really wide and tall.
